thats alot of rewards from just the MC

When I had the card, using Rewards Boost (or whatever they now call their mall) was a good way of getting quite a lot of points per dollar.

Re: Barclay Rewards Card

I'm thinking about getting this card. They sent me 2 18 months 0% Purchase/BT offer, then followed up with a 24 months offer.

I could use it for some upcoming expenses, but I'm wondering what kind of limit they would give out?

Are they ever known to give out larger limits? Will they match existing limits?

Re: Barclay Rewards Card

Looking at your TU score I think you would get a good limit. They gave me $3500 to start.....I only had a $600 secured card at the time. My TU score from Barclay  is/was 785

Re: Barclay Rewards Card

Only question would be how recent are your other accounts.  If you have a lot of recent accounts, they may give you a lower limit.   They gave me by far the lowest limit I have.

Great question. I added 6 acounts between July-Aug of 2013. 7, if you included an Amex that was backdated to 2010.

I did plan on apping for a few more cards after this one. The only reason for considering this Rewards card was the 24 months 0%, but if they are very sensitive to new accounts, inq, etc and will take AA on me. I may just have to pass GO and not collect.

I'm happy to hear such good things about this card(rewards card)! I was just approved 2 days ago, for my highest limit yet. Making a mental note to use this card for my utilities and stick with my BofA for the other stuff.

Re: Barclay Rewards Card

Barclays likes heavy, regular use of thier cards it seems.

By doing so,it appears as if they start becoming more generous and friendly with you.

Not fact. but from personal experience and many things Ive read that seems to be the secret ingredient with them.

Almost as if they are willing to overlook a couple Inqs and new accounts for those that make regular use of the card, and get upset with those small things for those who SD the card.

Re: Barclay Rewards Card

Also, it seems that this card has "extra" 2% categories.  Since they are not advertized they could disappear at any time, but the card may cover stuff not covered by the BoA card, like drug stores.

Re: Barclay Rewards Card

I received one of their "pre-selected" apps today. I already have the Barclay's Apple card and have a collection that I'm pretty happy with.  The rewards from this card would be better than what I get from my Cap 1 card.  I'm just wondering what I'd get for a limit. My Apple store care has a $5500. CL. Hoping to see that go up a little in the next few months.  I think it would be worth it if I get approved for $3-$5000+.  There is a note on the app that says after five consecutive on-time payments, the account will be reviewed for a CLI.

I might go for it. Just want to pay down one of my cards to regain the 12 points that I just from a higher balance than I had a couple of months ago.
