Guess it's worth a shot. We are talking about the "Discover it" card correct?
I don't have any bad credit cards. My first one was the CapOne platinum I got last summer.
My baddies are 4 loans that defaulted last year, that I have now gotten paid off through consolidation. Now they have perfect pay history since.
I also have a medical debt of around $6k to a hospital for a car accident that resulted in a CAT scan I think. And one old closed cell phone account from almost 10 years ago around $500.00
Thanks for your advices.
Walmart approved me for the store card with a CL of $400.
Discover denied me. They did at least give me my EQ score though, it is 668. A bit better than the FAKO CapOne score. That does make me feel a bit better, as I am not too far off of half decent credit territory. I just need to work on those baddies and I might get there sooner than later.
I am now going to garden for sure. 2 approvals and 3 denials in two days is plenty for a while. I am going to try and use each card at least a little. The QS will be the main card, I am replacing my debit card with it. Going to PIF every month. The JCrew card I will use now and again, I like to shop there or JCrew Factory for some things. Walmart like I said I can keep active.
The CapOne Platinum will probably go unused as I will have the QS card. Will CapOne close it if I don't use it even if I am using another one of their cards?
I understand the optimal score strategy is to leave a couple dollars on one card when the statement hits, before paying it off. Should I rotate which card I do this with? Or does it not matter which card it is, as long as it occurs?
Thanks again for the help.
Did you ever try to call CapOne to convert your card to Quicksilver? I would not waste another hardpull on all 3 credit bruau fo cap1. I tried to call them to convert different prouct to QuickSilver 3 times for myself, my gf and her sister, all are success. I would try to go through that route fist. There are many more desirabl credit cards for you to get than those two

No I did not try this first. I received and email from CapOne saying I was qualified for the QS card so I just applied for it. Oh well. I am hoping I can PC the platinum to a QS at some point, and ideally combine the two cards limits together keeping my older account. I don't know if CapOne does this however.
