CreditJim maybe you got a bad representative, I did exactly what itguy suggested yesterday and I got $7K in CLI on my two Barclays cards. Then again I also had an APR offer available so maybe that's how I got transferred.
The number I called was 800-307-0341 if that helps.
This worked for me. I lowered my APR 1% and also raised my CL $500. Not stellar, but an increase nonetheless. I haven't used the card much at all though, so I can't expect much. Thanks for the tip!
Edit: I literally just got off the phone with them after reading this thread!

Same with me. 1% reduction and CLI of $750. Not happy about it.

FInally get a CLI. Got my card late April of 2014 and just received a CLI a couple of days ago. $1300 increase from $1300 to $2600.
Took awile but except for paying my phone automatically each month I haven't used card that often for other purchases so I'm happy.

While I'm not particularly happy with the $500 increase, it's better than nothing especially with the limited use I've been utilizing with them. What about you? Have you been using them a lot?

regardless i don't understand how people who don't get "the increase they want" all of a sudden have a bad attitude about it. they aren't required to give them at all and to expect them is ludicrous. be thankful a bank actually took a chance on you by lending ANY credit.
No bad attitudes here on my end! I know what you mean though. I was reading a thread this morning about a guy who was pissed he didn't get the expected CL from a company and because of that he's going to quit banking with them as a result of the less than expected SCL. He did have a great CS (750+), plenty of income, and for whatever reason he got a limit that I didn't feel was out of my reach. It made me appreciate the credit I do have because you may have all the requirements for this or that credit wise, but that doesn't mean a company is obligated to give it to you.

yeah i was referring to dman23 lol. and honestly if you have enough credit to royally screw yourself if you max it all out then yeah.... you have enough lol. my income is under $30k a year and i have over $18k in credit... if i maxed it all out i would be completely screwed. i don't complain over CLI. they aren't hand-me-outs...
Wow we're pretty similar. I'm just under $40K and I feel the $10.5K is enough for me. I've had a lot of stupid unexpected expenses happen lately (transmission blew, dental work, and normal day to day spend) and still haven't come close to my limits. I couldn't imagine having $50-$60K in credit debt. The key is not treating the limits like a second (or 3rd in my case) income.
However, anticipation of CLI's are fun. I used to collect sports cards so a CLI to me was like the anticipation of ripping a pack of cards and hoping to find that Tiger auto that everyone wants haha.
