Bilt/McDonald’s

Is McDonald's or other fast food chains part of dining category for Bilt and other credit/charge cards, DW says it's part of Bilt dining category. Am I missing something.

The dinning or any reward category are based on what is called MMC these codes are assigned by the payment processors, and while some of them may code differently than how you would expect like Walmart often codes as discount store or grocery it is safe to assume anything that broadly appears to be a certain thing, in this case a business that serves prepared food and has a "dinning" area is defined as Restruant/Dinning.

While I don't have the BILT card in this case I can promise you DW has the right to call her partner dumb Smiley Tongue

Re: Bilt/McDonald’s

It's a good question. It all depends on how expansive their 'Restaurants' category is.  On my Discover & Redstone cards, they count as Restaurants even though they fall under the Fast Food MCC. My Elan MCP does not, but that makes sense for that card since it has its own 'Fast Food' 5% category. Contrast that to my SAFE Cash Rewards that does not count Fast Food MCCs as 'Dining'.

Best way to find out is to give it a try.  Buy an ice cream cone and report back
