Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express Bonus question

Hi guys, question about this offer about the AMEX BCP card:

If you are identified as a current American Express® Cardmember, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer. This offer is also not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer Blue Cash® Card account within the last 90 days.

Does the above mean if I have an AMEX costco card, I wouldn't be eligible for the rewards bonus?

You will probably get it, but they have the option of not giving it to you. Make sure you go through creditcards.com to get the larger bonus.

Re: Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express Bonus question

When I am logged in over at AMEX and I click the cardmatch link I get the following:

You have been identified as a current American Express Cardmember. You may have seen an offer advertised for this product previously, but the offer is not available to current American Express Cardmembers.

And it's in red. Smiley Sad

Re: Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express Bonus question

I know when I apped for my Delta Gold I had to be signed out to get the bonus offer to even load. That was in January. Since then they seem to have put more wording into the offers to allow themselves to not keep paying out on sign up bonuses for current card members. As far as I know people are still getting them. The red text is something that I hadn't heard of until now. I think it's going to be completely YMMV. Maybe wait to see if anyone else knows more about what AMEX is doing...

Re: Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express Bonus question

I just played around with it... If you are not signed in (you may need to use another browser or clear your cache and cookies) it displays this:

  • $250 Welcome Bonus: Earn 250 Reward Dollars after you make $1,000 in purchases in the first three months of Cardmembership on your Blue Cash Preferred®Card. 1Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit.
  • Get Cash back where you shop every day with a low annual fee of $75.

If you are identified as a current American Express® Cardmember, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer. This offer is also not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer Blue Cash® Card account within the last 90 days.

If you are signed in It takes you to a page with no sign up bonus and has that red text.

If it were me I would try applying without being signed in. You may be declined and get a hp, you may be approved and get no sign up bonus, or you may be approved and get the $250. Just take a screen shot of the app screen so that you have proof you applied under that offer. I know it says that you may not be eligible, but chances are they will give it to you if your upset.

Funny I was just looking at this last night. I got the cardmatch.com offer but I am afraid I wont get the bonus because I am already a AMEX member, please keep us updated on how it goes.

I got my bonus on both my cards 20 days apart. I apped through cardmatch the second time without being logged in.

Open link in a different browser or in incognito/private browsing mode. I got SPG bonus by doing that, as have many others.
