I'm almost maxed out on my boa card ($1500 limit). I have 0 apr until june 2018 so I would like to get a CLI for some Christmas gifts. I'm eligible for the CLI. Should I go for it? FICO 680-700 across the board, no baddies. Util @15%

In my experience, BOA actually likes it when you've heavily used their cards for a balance transfer. Your scores could make it go either way, though. All you have to lose is a HP, but if you took the gamble I'd go big on the asking amount.
@Gmood1 you may have left some on the table if they gave you the whole amount, but congrats on the CLI! Check back on your Merrill in a few days. When I asked for the two CLIs after they took the $21k to open my Premium Rewards, they went pending on me (a first for me) and higher lines showed up later on the accounts.
Cheers guys. I asked for 25k that night and they gave me 24k, that's a good improvement from before and I'm happy with that. Good to know about using the same pull to app for another card, I was unaware. Though considering I didn't get the full amount requested, if I app for another card are the chances of them pulling from that CL for use on the new card pretty high?
YMMV. There's a chance they could take some of it to open a new account, certainly. Happened to me when I opened my Cash Rewards right after receiving a $13k CLI.
I asked for a CLI from 1500 to 5000 this morning over the phone and she told me that it has to go to review and I would get a written decision in 5-10 days. What is your take on this? Denial?

Not a definite denial but most likely as they would have countered you with a lesser amount that they’re comfortable with to grant you as they are known for.
My two CLI denials with them in the last 18 months came by way of 5-10 day message. But I’ve also read somewhere here about approvals coming in a few short minutes to hours after the 5-10 day review response. You can always recon with their analysts via their backdoor numbers should a denial unfortunately comes. Best of Luck and let us know what happens.
Oh yes they absolutely counter. I'd call in to a sr credit analyst (backdoor thread) if you are not satisfied with the outcome.
I am thinking about clicking the request increase button since its showing on all 4 of my cards, because that would give me 30 days to use that inquiry for opening a new card. Then I would be over the 3 cards in 12 months timeframe (their new 4/3/2 rule) by the end of the month (assuming it goes by approval date) and app for the premier rewards travel card. If it gets denied, then c'est la vie. Theres a quite a few reports of boa lmiting folks to 4 cards but also many reports of people surpassing that. I definitely do not want to close either of my merrill+ cards, nor would I close my BBR, or beloved Amtrak(as its my oldest card). Actually the better strategy might be to just apply for the new card first and see if it siphons away any limit from other cards (they did that when I applied for the BBR, it took 10k away from a merrill). My exposure with BOA is currently $50k. I'd like to get my amtrak a bit higher as well and am due for another apr reduction soon too (started at 22% and am now down to 15 on all cards. At the end of the day, even if none of it worked out, I'd still love bank of america!

B of A and their "siphoning" from other cards for new accts. and CLIs are the main reason I decided to limit myself to only one card with them-I'd rather keep everything with them on one card only. I keep getting the offer for the BT card whenever I sign in---but they've been pretty good to me also so far on my Cash Rewards.
