Re: BofA Better Balance Rewards

The banker who wanted to open the BBR for me said he charges his netflix account on there and nothing else. Essentially 25 bucks every quarter, so at the end of the year, he gets netflix for free.

Re: BofA Better Balance Rewards

I had really considered this card but after looking through the approvals on Credit Pulls, I decided to pass on this though PCing to it in the future isn't entirely out of the question. I mean getting paid 25 dollars for hardly doing anything sounds like a great deal.

Tradelines: Macy’s - $18k, Penfed Power Cash Rewards - $10k, Ethan Allen (TD Bank) - $5.7k, Kay Jewelers - $5.5k, Appliances Connection - $5.3k, Jared - $5.25k, Best Buy (Citi) - $5k, Dell Preferred Account - $3.5k, Samsung - $3.2k, Firestone CFNA - $3.2k, Capital One Platinum - $3k, Mercury MC - $2.25k, Williams Sonoma - $2.1k, Wayfair (Fortiva) - $2k, Amazon Store Card - $1.8k, Apple Card - $1.7k, NFCU cashRewards - $1.5k, CareCredit - $1.5k, B&H Photo - $1.5k, Adorama - $1.25k, Ebay MC - $1k, Sam’s Club MC - $1k, American Eagle - $1k, Ollo MC - $600, Mission Lane Visa - $500, NY & Company - $500, Walgreens - $500, Home Depot - $500, Target RED Card - $500, CapOne Secured MC 0 AF - $500, Penfed Overdraft LOC - $500

I may give it an go sometime down the road, the 100 dollar an year for doing very little seems intriguing to me. I probably will give it an go sometime near end of the year.

i product changed my Bank America Cash Rewards to Bank America Better Balance. I was only getting $60 cash back a year on my Cash Rewards when i could be getting $120 cash back using Better Balance Rewards instead so i made the switch without a hard pull or having to apply.

Re: BofA Better Balance Rewards

You can put a $1 or $2 charge on and it will qualify.  One tricky bit - if you don't have a BofA checking account, it wiill redeem as a statement credit.  After which, you'll need to charge $26 or so to cover the statement credit and generate a non-zero balance.  That would be the month after each quarterly bonus.

I don't have one but did a lot of research when considering switching.  I tried to switch but then my request got cancelled because of something having to do with my Cash Rewards card being an affinity card (school alumni), and I've been too lazy to call/chat and request again.  (I think I'm allowed to PC if I drop the association with my college.)

BofA Cash Rewards 25,000 (2009) | Citi Double Cash 25,000 (2011) | Cap1 Quicksilver 10,000 (2013) | Discover It 31,000 (2014) | Chase Freedom 9000 (2014) | Barclaycard Rewards 25,000 (2014)

How long did you wait until you were eligible for a PC?

i've had my bank america cash rewards for 2 years. doesnt hurt to ask. just call the backdoor number though. dont call the bank. the real people. EO

Bank America  866-618-4585 and just tell them that you find the better balance reward would be more beneficial and would like to product change. be sure its bank america brand card though. if its another product they may not be able to change it. they've even removed my annual fee too once it was changed. thank god. because im new to credit.
