Re: BofA PC not possible?

I also did a PC for my wife BofA premium card to cash card. They even offered to PC the travel card too since I told them the 2500 per quarter is not enough. They probably freezing minor requests since it's a 2 week process. No idea why takes BofA forever for these kind of things. Amex and Chase do PC the same day.

So I've been trying to call BofA and change my cash rewards MC to a travel rewards visa. The phone CSR kept telling me that it's not possible for now and I'll need to call later. Today I called and they told me it's actually impossible to change my card to a travel rewards because the travel rewards has no FTF while mine has, and the only possible way for me is to apply for a new travel rewards.

I wanted to ask if anyone was able to PC from a BofA card with FTF to one without FTF. The cash rewards has been useless for me and I can't even get a CLI even though it's 18 months now since I opened it.

My Travel Rewards card was a PC from a BankAmericard (previously some MBNA card that BOA acquired) that had FTFs.  Unfortunately, it sometimes takes a few HUCA to get a PC done with BOA as not all CSRs know how to do it.  And it usually takes a few weeks.  Keep trying and you'll get it accomplished.

Re: BofA PC not possible?

PCd my BofA BankAmericard (with FTF) to a CashRewards Card with a single phone call. Rep was very helpful, no resistance. Only hitch was they would not change payment networks - BankAmericard was a MC, CashRewards a Visa. So I received a WMC CashRewards, as opposed to the standard Visa Signature.

Totally agree.

BoA is all over the places when it comes to PC.  After 3 tries I was able to PC a 5 month-old CO-BRANDED card with AF (the $79 Amtrak) to a CR.   If that PC was possible just about anything is as long as it complies with Card Act and other hard legal terms.

To OP, HUCA and good luck!
