Hi Forum
Since 5 hours ago BofA put a hold in my Credit Card account. They notice me to contact a number to release it. They attach a message like... "for your protection we put a hold in your account. We need you to review some unusual activity on your card before you use it again...."
Since its midnight nobody answer the phone number they attached. Any idea why it happend? I only use my card to pay in four bussiness. I dont use it to pay in groceries stores or gas stations only use it in four bussiness companies.
Something will be charged when tomorrow morning I will call the bank to release it?
Thanks a lot all comments,
El Yepez
Did you check any pending transactions? Looks like they think someone stole your account number.
either someone tried to use your card, or one of your transaction triggered their fraud dept. I'm sure like any other credit card, they'll let you know which transaction triggered it and ask if you made that purchase or not.
My only guess would be that something unusual or any out of norm transaction(s) may have triggered locking the account. Just call the number in the morning to clear it up. Since their department is closed for the evening, it's really anyone's guess why your account was blocked. Hopefully, it's something simple that can be cleared up and your account can be unlocked.
It's likely just a precaution and if they suspected some form of fraud they will overnite new cards and will reflect on your online account. Let's hope thats all it is. Just happened to me last week for the first time.
Thanks for all of your comments,
I dont use my card since last Oct-29 in one of the mayor business company I use from all the year ( a Datacenter company). I double check allother 3 companies that I usually use but no of them try to charge anything. Its a personal CC but I use only to pay services from my company. Not use to personal charges.
Tomorrow I will call at 8am and after release it I will update this post.
Thanks a lot
Yepez
BOA is extra cautios with their fraud monitoring. A few months ago, I signed into my online banking site where I manage credit cards and checking.
My cash rewards visa was gone, i called the automated line and it said your account was closed.
So i called a live rep. and my card was closed and new one issued due to fraud.
