Re: Bye Bye Comenity

As far as I'm concern banks sell a product same as any other industry, if the product does not fets your needs, you won't buy it. If quality and safety is one of your needs in that product then same as any other product you will avoid it. If I buy a car I look for safety and long life, I don't want a car that will last 3 months, if I go to a restaurant I expect fresh food, if it does not meet my needs I don't buy it or don't go. Credit cards is in my view the same, if i don't feel safe with a lender cause their quality is so so, or I feel insecure about the cc, I won't deal with them. Quality is the first thing I look for in a long term relationship, if it's a fast food restaurant I don't expect quality I expect a good price and a fast meal.

Re: Bye Bye Comenity

Nicely done! I have 2 cards with them, Overstock and Gander Mountain. $750 and $500 respectively with a $200 balance on the Overstock and 0 balance on the GM card. I got the cards during promos as I shop at both stores ansd only have the Overstock balance because I bought my wife a KitchenAide mixer. I have some other pretty good cards so if Comenity throws me under the axe, so be it. Now I am just letting them sit there and age with a very low possibility of using them for the sasme reasons as others are scared to use their cards that are in good standings with no issues....you don't know if the friggin thing is going to get declined or not!

Re: Bye Bye Comenity

I never use a Comenity card "in real life."  Only internet purchases.  If its suddenly going to be closed on me, I don't want the embarassment of finding out in line at a store!

Re: Bye Bye Comenity

Well done!

I have been reading other sites as well about Comenity complaints. The issue certainly reaches far beyond this little forum.

Love the reason you gave them for closing the card. The rep should have replied "Touche!"
