I don't often get bored, but I was a little today. So, to amuse myself I went on a couple of sites to see the "pre-qual" stuff. Citi showed a bunch of cards, but all of the cards gave me an interest rate of 22.99%. I thought, Citi, are you nuts??. With scores of 800 across the board I said no way. Even tho I PIF whatever I charge, I felt a little insulted by the offers. There will never be a Citi card in my wallet. Just thought I would share the amusement.

Weird. They just gave me the lowest APR listed on my AA app. Don't understand why they are listing such a high one for you and wonder if an approval would give you something much better.

Irish,
I certainly wouldn't take the chance on applying to see if I could get a better rate. I know its mute since I always pay in full. But as they say, it's the principle of the thing.

Understandable. The only other thing I'll add though is that in reading recent threads Citi is fairly receptive to lowering APRs even below those listed for the individual cards. I can't compare to any preapproval APRs for me because they never show me any.
How many recent INQs and TLs do you have, OP? I have a feeling these are factored in to APR.
It seems that they were for me.

Didn't affect mine at all.

...that is indeed amusing and even worse than me trying out the Cap1 pre-approvals where they offer me QS1 MC with an APR of 22,9%... but I am already holding QS VS with 12,9% APR.... I think Cap1 wants to help me with gardening and Citi does the same favor to you ?
