Re: CLI on AMEX with 2 accounts

So, does anybody know for certain whether the 6 months is applied per card, or as a whole for the account? For example, if I request a CLI on my Blue card, can I request one on my Clear card a month later, or do I have to wait the 6 months from the point of the CLI request on the Blue card?

For some people it has changed recently. Problem with AMEX is you don't know until you try and by then it might be curtains for ya. I don't see the need for more than 1 anyway. Can you combine the cards if you wanted to?

Re: CLI on AMEX with 2 accounts

The second one was specifically for a balance transfer, and I don't know if the BT terms would carry over if I combined. Plus, I kinda like having a separate card for things like BT's. I think I'm going to see if I can just do both at the same time and see what happens. I'll post my results as soon as I find out.

One overall CLI every 6 months-
You can reallocate CL's between accounts-

Re: CLI on AMEX with 2 accounts

Has anyone got an auto CLI from Amex. My next statement on my blue card will be my 6 months. I am not going to ask, it would just be nice if they gave me some luv!:-)

Re: CLI on AMEX with 2 accounts

I was told by the Credit Department a week ago that the policy is you can request a CLI after the account has been opened 60 days, and after that only every 6 months.

If you don't mind, what was your CL, scores at approval?

I posted detailed info last week when I first got approved (run a search for AmEx Blue Approval, if you want the whole shebang), but my CL was teeny - $1K; my EX at the time was 672 - TU and EQ as of 4/30 were 683 and 664, respectively.  My initial CL and APR were very so-so due to short credit history, mainly, I was told, and due to my EX being borderline for approval.  My year's good history on my charge card with them seems to have squeaked me in - barely.

A clarifying question: Is it only request every six months or approved requests every six months? That is, if I am approved for a CLI at month 1, I know that I can't ask again until month 7, but if I was denied, can I apply again at month 2?
