CSP declined but Freedom approved

About 2 months ago I applied online for the CSP. i was declined even after recon because my util (49%). a week ago i apped again this time for freedom. denied at first, called the recon and approved for $2500.

I would love to get the csp as well.  What do you think ? Is it to early to try again?

I think it is still a little too early. But it's hard to say. Do you have a lot of inq? Scores? How's your util now?

Re: CSP declined but Freedom approved

I would say use that Freedom responsibly for another 6 months ($2500 is a nice limit anyway). Given that chase previously declined you, I'd say show them some reponsibility with the freedom (hopefully get a CLI or two!) and then app for the CSP.

That said, the CSP is a really cool card and I really really wanted to have it at a point (I let 6 months cut on the freedom and got the CSP). Best of luck with whatever you chose to do Smiley Happy

Definitely wait, your scores are on the lower end for the CSP, let a few months go by and get those scores up!)

I'll probably wait 6 months...thank you!

Re: CSP declined but Freedom approved

Definition wait. Get your UTI down below 20% or more. Use the Freedom and try and PIF or carry a small balance. Than in a few months, check the Chase prequalified webpage. Hopefully you'll see the CSP come up.

Re: CSP declined but Freedom approved

It's early. Use your Freedom responsibly for 6 months or so. This way you're showing a good history with them. Then the CSP should be attainable, provided you don't have 5 new accounts in 2 years (so really, 4 besides the Freedom), because that is their new policy.

+1 ... And congrats on the recon approval!

Get the utl down and apply the next month. Girlfriend did the same thing. Approved when she tried a month later.
