I thought pre-qualify sites won't work for 18 year olds?  Or am I thinking of someting else?

Chase prequal worked for me when I turned 18 a year ago. The major one I know of that doesn't allow 18yr olds is Capital One.

No lender disallows 18 year olds, as age discrimination is against lending laws.

Sorry, meant to say doesn't allow 18yr olds to be matched to a prequalification offer.

Ok ill try to answer everyones questions: here goes! yes im in my last year of high school ( online for the last 3 years) so it allows me to work an almost full time job, im a front end supervisor at target, obviously i still live at home, now to answer credit questions;

My scores (fico 08) from this site are transunion at 708, experian at 706 and equifax is right under 700. low low low utilitzation, 4 percent i believe. AAOA is 8 months but that is calculated with an AU account thats 4 years old. my cards are as follows,

Discover it $ 47.00 / 2500.00

walmart $ 0 /1400.00

local CU   125 /500.00

cap one secured card 25 /200.00 thinking of dropping this one, would like a quicksilver but they wont upgrade.

best buy in store card   0 /2000.00

target $6 /300.00

and my car loan, which im techinically second on, is about 11,700 out of the origial $13,000 opened last september.

im actually going to hawaii this year for the 4th time, ( Lots and lots of family over their, with my grandparents (mom cant get off work to go) and one of their friends. Was thinking of booking the trip on a CSP and paying it right off but the tickets are probably going to total $4,000.00 That would be a nice bunch of points! so to recap, i think that i would definitly get enough use out of the card to justify the AF.

Only downfall with me is 4 of these account is from the last 3 months  and i have about 8-10 inquiries on each report.

Thanks everyone!

Pay off all but one of those cards so ONLY ONE reports a balance and your scores will shoot up. After that, app for the CSP and see what happens.

good luck!

Re: CSP minimum income?

I see it being an uphill battle in order for you to get a CSP. However, you will never know unless you try. I started young with credit and still am, and one thing I will say is that the inquiries are going to age off in no time plus I think your in that age where you don't necessarily need credit but should definitely be building it. The CSP could possibly be you're ticket in to higher limits and better cards.

As stated I wasn't sure at al.. Thought their was something in the CARD act of 2009 about it, but obviously I am thinking of something else.

Re: CSP minimum income?

I had no prequals ever from Chase or any other lender besides Credit One but got the CSP after about having a year and 6 months of revolving credit history but had gotten in with Chase back in August and gave them some payment history on other cards. I really think it helps to get in with Chase through another card of theirs, work with that for a few months and then you can go for their other cards IMO. In case of no prequal, use Credit Pulls Database.

I never get any myself.  Far too much emphasis on prequalifications.  Know your credit file, compare to prior approvals as you suggest and apply if you are within the parameters of their requirements.
