@ baller, are you going to apply at the branch?
Yep if I'm preapproved. Just waiting on a couple of balance updates to report.

He said he could look and see if I'm pre-approved, but it wouldn't tell him for what cards and such because I'm not in the branch with him. He looked and said he couldn't find any offers for me at this time however to come in and open up a checking account and that usually helps with pre-approvals. So maybe I'll go open up a checking account with $100 and see what happens.

@Anonymous wrote:Could someone call a Chase branch and be told over the phone from a banker if they were pre-qual? Just curious as if this is possible. I know my closest location is just over 3 hours away.
Heh hope that works. If it does and $100 overcomes my 24/24, I will be driving to NJ
Seriously? ![]()

Seriously. If that was the only way that I could be approved and I knew it ahead of time I would certainly drive 150 miles to a branch. 100K points is worth $2500-3000 or more to me so it would be a no brainer to do so.

Yes. You hand them one of your current Chase cards and id and say you want to check to see if you are preapproved for CSR
Ah I see, I am only AU on one chase cards so I don't think it will work, would it?

Now THAT I do not know. But, you could give it a try and let us all know if you have a local branch.

That is really strange, how would they pre-approve you if you have no relationship? You go to a banker and say can you check if I am pre-approved for the card?
Yeah. As baller4life said, I just walked in and asked if I was pre-approved for any credit cards. He originally asked for my debit card, but I told him I only have credit cards through Chase. He took that and looked me up. Pre-approved for all remaining Chase cards, so obviously I took the CSR. Very easy process. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes.
Just curious about whether applying at the branch incurs a soft pull or a hard pull. Any info about that?
This is a longshot - but do you think it would work to call your nearest Chase branch and ask to speak with a banker and have them check to see if you are preapproved for any offers (mainly the CSR)? I also live in the Northern Virginia/DC area where there are no Chase branches, but I might try calling a branch and seeing if this works
