You can alway try adding him to see if it goes through. Pretty sure it won't hurt your account. AU cards are $175 for up to 3 additional cards. And he can get the global entry credit as well. Or add him as Platinum AU gold card for free.

Hey everyone. Quick question. I was just approved for the Amex platinum card. I was going to put my dad on as an authorized user because he travels a lot. However, I am worried to do it because he has a bankruptcy on his report and he burned amex in it. He has been discharged for 6-7 years now I believe. I was wondering if me adding him as an AU would hurt me at all with Amex or my credit in general. I don’t want Amex thinking “oh his dad is an au and he has a bankruptcy and burned us and this is his son” and he also has the same name as me. Discover mixed us up once on prequalified offers and I don’t want to have Amex mix us up or anyone else mix us up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It won't hurt you at all, but they might decline to add him if you provide his SS#/DOB up-front.
For the best odds, when you request the AU card don't immediately provide his SS#/DOB (there's an option to provide it later). When he gets the physical card he will be required to provide his SS#/DOB when he activates it, which should be no problem.
This work-around has worked for several others, including my own AU.
