Re: Can I upgrade my Zync?

OK let me say this. 2 min ago I read all the posts here. I have had the same question

I got my Zync Last Month. I just applied over the phone with CSR for the GOLD Premier Rewards Card. ---- APPROVED!!!

The Rep told me - who sounded quite knowledgeable - that since the charge cards are low risk - cause you have to pay them off every month - the requirements are relatively the same. Personally, I don't think a college kid wants to pay 175 in fees - I work so its a small price to pay once a year.

The key here is that I have 2 cards open now - yes you can keep BOTH open. Why you ask? Because the points come together from both cards into 1 pool. So I don't lose out on the double point packs, and nor do I lose out on transferring points to the gold from whatever airline etc and I do get the promotion free 1 year and whatever points they have right now.

Its Brilliant Chaps!! Thanks to all here for the knowledge they share and advice they give

CONGRATS, amixzync!!!  That's great news!  There are many conflicting reports on how Zync critera differ (or don't differ) from Green, Gold & Platinum, so it's always nice to hear a success story.  Now the regular questions...I know Amex uses their own internal scoring, but if you don't mind my asking, what are your FICOs like?  Baddies?  It sounds like this was a hard pull - can you confirm?

Re: Can I upgrade my Zync?

I can confirm its a regular pull for Credit when applying on a fresh app as I was clearly told by the CSR when I asked is this a HARD PULL. I monitor my credit so I can confirm for sure when and if that hits.

Scores - TU 701

EXP 690

Eq 683

No Baddies been clean and cut for a few years. Low Utilization. I hate credit cards I have 1 from citi pay it every month in full. I learned very young 21 how credit can cripple you.

Thanks for the congrats Kellygoldston its much appreciated

+1, LOL!

I just got approved for the Zync but I really wanted the Green...to scared to apply for that one.  I don't mind the fee because I can get rid of my Sam's Club Card and continue my Cosco Membership.

Re: Can I upgrade my Zync?

I was approved for Green with 627, one credit card at 80% and no baddies but solid payment for 2 years of my history... Part of me wishes I went for Zync, I only went for green because rep said I can't upgrade.

*snip*

I have yet to encounter any check-out clerk or waiter/ waitress (waitperson, I guess) who has either swooned or sneered at any of my plastic, and that includes back when I had a Gold.

LOL!  the only time any cashier swooned over my plastic was in the late '80's when i traveled to the mainland.  i had a first hawaiian bank cc that was beautiful to look at - swaying hula girls and swaying palm trees with a pacific blue ocean  background.  the cashier exclaimed what a beautiful card it was and told me that one of her dreams was to vacation in hawaii.
