Cap One PC Success

Just got off the phone with Cap 1 about upgrading my No Hassle Platinum Rewards card with an annual fee to a Quicksilver with 1.5% and no annual fee. I asked about the fee several times to make sure that this is the no annual fee version and she even read me the terms that said there was no fee. The weird thing is that the new card is a World MasterCard. It is replacing a MasterCard, so that sort of makes sense, but I thought the no annual fee Quicksilver was a Visa Siggy.

I think I opened it in '05 or '06, but to be honest I don't remember. Is there somewhere in my online account to find this? If there is I haven't found that. Limit is $6000.

Re: Cap One PC Success

No. When the Account Rep upgraded my card she said that I was going to get a Quicksilver with no annual fee. She then said it was a World MasterCard, which is replacing my current Platinum MasterCard. I was just saying that I thought that the no annual fee was only available as a Visa and the $39 fee was a MasterCard. But she specifically said there is no annual fee for this card and that I would receive a World MasterCard so I don't know.

Congrats on the PC

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Cap One PC Success

Thanks. One question though. She did say that I would keep my same card number, just be upgraded to the new card and I specifically asked her if she was doing a HP to which she said that they were not, but she also said that after the upgrade I wouldn't be eligible for any Capital One promotions on new cards for 6 months. Could that be an indication that I am getting the 0% until Sept 2014 and $100 after spending $500? I highly doubt that, but why wouldn't I be eligible for new card promotion since this was just a PC?
