@bernhardtra wrote:So after I chatted with the online rep and got my account changed to the Quicksilver account, which I was told would happen after I activated my card, I activated the card.
I then logged in and checked and it said the account is a Platinum, not a Signature as I was told it would be. I then called CS, which was a US call center because of the type of account it was, and they verified this. I do have the Quicksilver rewards, not truly a Quicksilver card, and it is not a Signature Visa as I was told it would be. A little bit of misinformation there. I kinda feel like it was another aspect of Capone not really saying the facts. But, at least it is a Quicksilver Benefits package.
Which card did you have PC to Quicksilver? The $3500 wouldn't qualify. I would think the $5000 one would automatically be a Quicksilver.
Yeah it was the $5,000 which is supposed to be the Prime Card from them. I applied for the Prime Cash Rewards, so I assume that it is that one not just some trick by them during the recon. I will say it is a different starting number than their sub prime cards and when I called I was immediately connected to a US based representative. (I don't mind speaking to foreign call centers if they help you out and understand what you are saying.) When I converted it, I had not even activated the card. They said it had been changed to the Quicksiler Signature, but the reality is that they just added the benefits to the card. The card I have is a Platinum, not Signature, I guess we will see when the new card comes if there is anything different than the last rep informed me on.
I actually tried again to see about getting the 1.5% Cash Back on my account, so I called the Rewards Department this time, and a very sweet lady from the US answered and i asked if i could change my rewards to 1.5% and she placed me on hold while she checked, and then she came back and............... you guessed it "No offers available" She said I can check back in 6 months or check back sporadically. I mentioned how when i had cash back added in the first place, I emailed their facebook team and they reached out and were all of a sudden able to add the rewards and she didn't have an answer for that, She just said there's a certain section they go into the system to see if there are any offers and there are none and she said again that there are usually changes in the system every 6 months and to check back then or simply apply for the new card with that offer. I also double checked with her to see if she could see that i have my account to mail a check once i reach $25 and she said yes and once i reach $25 they mail a check out and i will get it within 2 weeks but she said most people get theirs before 2 weeks has past. I forgot to ask which part of the US she was from, she sounded Southern and her voice was sweet.
Maybe I'll call the Rewards Department more often when i have a question or request. LOL ![]()
I am happy to have rewards I just had hoped i could earn more faster..... lol.
I am also glad that CapOne is stepping up their training of their phone reps so they are more polite when you talk to them..... So far.....No More Rude Tone of Voice no matter if i call Customer Service in India, Rewards Department, Senior Account Manager Supervisors, or Executive Office..... Pleasent Voices finally!!!!! I hope they keep it that way!
New QuickSilver One card PC and a Credit Limit Increase success!!!
Okay today I made a post about the credit gardening that I had been doing for over a year now. I am 2 years and 2 months out of chapter 7 bankruptcy with an Equifax score of 688 and TransUnion score of 682. I contacted Capital One about their new QuickSilver card. The online CSR told me that I had the option to upgrade my 1.5 year old Capital One Platinum card with a $750 balance for the QuickSilver One card for average credit. He also told me that both my Capital One Rewards card and my new QuickSilver One card would be available for CLI's.
I was stunned lol. I said lets upgrade everything and so we went. Capital One gave me the Quicksilver One card with 19.8%(bad, but better than the 24.8% the Platinum card had) and they waived the $39 dollar fee. Again I was stunned, in a good way of course.
Next I applied for credit limit increases on both cards. I was awarded CLI's on BOTH cards!!!! I have only had one for a year and a half and the other for a year and two months. My new limits both increased $500 from $750 to $1250!!! I know it is not that much but I am very happy considering that many people seem stuck at $750 for EVER....which is horrible.
I think they have finally learned the error of their ways, well maybe not fully, it still remains to be seen! But they are doing so much better than before.
Hey all first time poster long time lurker ![]()
I tried the online chat route and they just referred me to check the offers myself... Then again my Cash Rewards cash is in the Credit Steps program, so I'm not sure if they PC it to a QuickSilver if that would nix my automatic CLI upgrade
Aaron
Still no IC... what the heck Capital One?
Apparently there is a lot of confusion about the transion from HSBC/orchard/household to cap one. one rep told me that ALL converted accounts will become quicksilver accts and the only difference will be wether one's credit qualifies for quicksilver one or quicksilver. this evening I called again to find out about the specifics of the quicksilver card and was told that since my household bank acct didn't have rewards, neither wil my cap one. interestly, she suggested I should apply for the quicksilver card but I told her that i had been denied because i have "too many capital one accounts". Unfortunately, i didn't get the reps name from earlier in the day.

Well supposedly you can now actually request a CLI anyway, however if your new Cash Rewards is in the credit steps program then you might simply get a good increase. Some people have been mentioning they got more than what they initially were told they would get with it. Also the CLI button doesn't yet work with HSBC cards, you simply get a message that during the transition (which is done, but not, I guess) that these accounts are not eligible for a CLI.
I just called and upgraded my Capital One Visa Platinum Card (No Hassle 1.25% Cash Rewards) to this new QuickSilver Rewards card (Visa Platinum). The card currently only has a $750 limit, so I'm hoping to increase the limit to take advantage of the 1.5% cash rewards.
What's the best method of increasing the credit limit for Capital One cards, by phone or online? Also, is there a soft or hard pull on CLI?
