Cap One blacklist

I filed my chapter 13 one year ago. I did burn cap one for a measly 300 dollars but every time I try their prequal link for a CC it says no matches (due to previously charged off account). Has anyone had any luck with no being able to prequalify but app'd anyway and got approved? I see a lot of people on here burn them for 10-20k and get approved almost right after. Really want to get back in with them. They won't even prequal me for a secured card. Anyone have success?

Ps.. I know I'm in a chapter 13 and it's required that my trustee approve any additional credit. As long as it is below 5k he said it was okay.

Re: Cap One blacklist

Did you try cold-apping? Just because you don't have a pre-approval doesn't mean you are on a blacklist.

Re: Cap One blacklist

You are still in a bankruptcy plan and it has not yet been closed its going to be tough to get new credit though it can be done sometimes. Cap-1 doesnt have a blacklist its well known that you can reapp for a new card after 1 year passes post CO. If you are repaying them in a CH-13 I think it would be highly doubtful they would approve a new account.

Re: Cap One blacklist

I have never received a prequal for Capital One, but they approve me for everything that I app for including a $30k Venture.  That said, you probably need to wait for the BK to finalize and maybe get your scores over 600 to get one of their rebuilders.

Re: Cap One blacklist

They aren't getting paid through my chapter 13 plan. All of my unsecured debts were charged off. I figured since my plan wasn't discharged yet that it would be a pain... ugh.... really wanting to get back in with them. Currently have USAA secured and a Fingerhut revolving account. And self lender

If you have funds get started with a secured Open Sky card they dont check your credit to open.

Re: Cap One blacklist

Yeah I'm probably going to do that one next. That'll leave me with 3 revolving accounts and a secured loan reporting. I only keep a balance on my USAA secured visa. I'll try capital one after my scores are a little higher. Speaking of.... my EQ is a 598 but my TU and EX are at 539 and 529... all fico scores. I feel like it isn't normal for that big gap
