Hey everyone. I upgraded my Cap1 Journey card the other night to the Quicksilver card, which has 1.5% cash back instead of 1%. Cool, and they even gave me 1.5% cash back on my current net purchases for upgrading. So, when I upgraded I asked if there was anything they could do about my CL and my APR. Being Cap1, the frontline CSR said no, there was nothing they could do, and I had applied for a CLI a week or two ago as my limit is currently $500. My 2 new cards, Discover IT and AMEX BCE are $1k and $2k respectively, so the Cap1 is really not as competitive. Called into the EO today and got the 3-5 days speech. Asked for a max CLI to $1.5k and said yes to a partial increase if offered. Will update when I get the call back in a few days.

Congrats on the 1.5 I just got the same thing on my classic platinum and I too am waiting to heart about my credit limit increase. I have read that if you are approved the site updates before the EO calls you back to tell you so I will be checking everyday and hopefully I will see something that will make my heart super happy! They gave CLI via the LUV button which bumped me to 1000 when i PCed from Platinum to Quicksilver. Is it too soon for me to talk to the EO for a CLI? This happened recently, and I havent gotten my new Quicksilver card yet.
I would not call the Exe office unless your account is over a year old. I don't think it's fair to other CAP1 customers who've had their cards for years stuck at the same limit.

My account with Cap1 is well over 2.5 years old..however my product change to Quicksilver is recent (last two weeks). My reasoning is that the minimum credit line for that card is $3k, and I'm still at 1K!
This is my reasoning as well. My account is over 1.5 years old and i have never paid late. My limit was so low because the journey cards aren't meant to be high limit cards, which makes the current card almost unviable to use compared to my Discover or AMEX.
I would call the EO then...I want to PC my MTV Visa to a Quicksilver card but my account isn't eligible...even tho I have a 5k limit. Lol.

i wonder if they will help me even though i havent had the Quicksilver for 6 months yet, or recently got a CLI?

you can call the EO office and ask for a CLI even if your account is least than 1 year old and get approved based on a strong CR. However, getting PC/Siggy upgrade status will require at least 1 year established account; no question.
What would actually happen if I say no to the partial credit limit increase?
cause saying yes to partial CLI gives them option to say ok we don't have to give him the full CLI that's been sought
would that mean if i said no then they will review it and say sorry no can do?
