Cap1 finally auto-converted my NHM Ultra MC into a Venture MC

Update:  interestingly enough lol, Cap1 finally auto-converted my No Hassle Miles (NHM) Ultra Professional MC with no AF into a Venture MC (noticed it popping up automatically about a month or so ago when logging into my online Cap1 account, and so I have updated my signature line accordingly).

For the reference of those who may be unfamiliar with Cap1's former NHM card lineup, NHM Ultra was the immediate predecessor card to the Venture (same benefits, 2% cashback, etc.).  NHM, sans Ultra, was likewise the immediate predecessor card to the Venture One, with 1.25% cashback.  Cap1 basically just rebranded what they had formerly called NHM Ultra / NHM to Venture / Venture One.

I have the same card and they changed it over about a year ago. My question is how did you get it without an annual fee?

I still have the annual fee of $39.

Thanks for sharing more about your experience with the card!  Yup originally I had the AF as well, but around the timeframe some years ago when Cap1 was still maintaining an EO department where you could still talk to a live human CSR, I was able to call in to it and successfully negotiated with the EO CSR to drop the AF.  Sadly, iirc, the option to talk to a live Cap1 EO CSR no longer exists as Cap1 removed that feature a few years ago, although I believe that up until last year or thereabouts (not sure if it is an available option today or not?), there used to be an alternate way to contact the EO via a certain Cap1 e-mail address.

Also:  there was a time somewhere between 5-10(?) years ago, when Cap1 for a while was issuing no-AF Venture cards, as part of a pilot program of sorts, although also regrettably, they likewise discontinued that pilot program as well after a certain period of time Smiley Sad

Years ago (1999?) I had a no hassle miles that was 1c per $, then it went to a then-amazing 1.5c.   Hopefully your Venture is no AF to match your prior card?
