CapOne card upgrade?

Just out of curiousity, has anyone successfully upgraded their good ol' classic CapOne Platium MC to the shiny new SAVOR (with or without the NCM Bonus)? I was on the phone with one of their CSRs and at the time was told that they're currently not doing any PC to SAVOR.

A member here literally was just offered it as an option within the last few days. Checked for upgrade online, when there was one he called in and it was an available option.

Same answer I got when I asked a couple weeks ago. I wanted to pc QS to Savor... "sorry Savor is a new product, you should get an email when it is available for product change." Ha... I doubt it. But I'll keep checking.

Re: CapOne card upgrade?

PlasticDad,

This reminds me of what a friend told me when we were talking about his work situation at a particular contractor: "We have lots of work!  We just don't have work for you." (my friend quoting the contractor)

I saw a TV commercial for the Savor card, and even though my CapitalOne card is sockdrawered, I thought to myself "I like the idea of 4% cash back at restaurants, so I could use this card for that purpose only, and there'd be no hard pull for a product change" but when I looked at the website I saw there's an annual fee of $95 so I recoiled like a poked garden slug.

The website also said the first annual fee is waived, so I'm guessing CapitalOne's computer algorithms are being selective about product changes (at least until the first annual fee is no longer being waived).

Re: CapOne card upgrade?

Funny you mentioned sock drawered cause that's exactly where mine is LOL! The 4% CB also applies to the entertainment category so combined it's pretty significant. Thanks for your feedback!
