@idiotsavant86 wrote:So iv been trying this just a few days after this feature became available. I called after I noticed it online to confirm the rules that applied. All my accounts are over a year old, all in good standing, no late payments etc. I make sure the card I want to close is showing a $0 balance and that there is no pending charges. I even wait a few days in between each attempt and I do it from differnt browsers from differnt computers to make sure its not a technical problem. I call capital one again to confirm from their end weather or not I am qualified and meet the criteria. Several reps explain to me that I do, but they all claim that they cant help me do it over the phone, that its only possible on my end online, they constantly put me on hold and transfer me to the technical department who ask me all the same damn questions about the account. Its really streassing me out and i know some people are like, just keep tring but thats total BS, its an instant thing, the error is on their end, but they are refusing to fix it. It is not like you click it and it starts something that takes time, its either yes or no. If it is yes then its effective right there on the spot. Any one else having this problem and have you resolved it and how?
Yes I have the same problem....my Venture card is 6 months old and I have 2 QS cards I want to combine to it. They said "that my Venture card just became 6 months old and you have to wait for the system to update to see the card show up". That's BS, it should be automatic in their system. I've had my 2 QS with zero balance and waiting for my Venture to become 6 months old to combine, but no avail....! Not a glitch in their system at all. I dont know what their problem is, and the CSR is totally useless!
Does the link just show up? I don't see the option in my online profile.
**Nevermind, I found it but my venture isn't showing up. Just the QS. I guess you can't combine those.

Yes you can combine Venture and QS MaisCher. Both accounts just have to be at least 6 months old and the card you are closing cannot have a balance.
Got it. Thanks!
Thanks for this post. I just combined my Quicksilver and Venture acct. I have a $16,500 limit on my Venture card now. Woohoo!!
Congrats! About to do the exact same thing next month! Nice!

When you are combining your accounts, Cap1 states multiple times to transfer any autopayments to your new account.

[A] = My 5 year old QS MC. Was converted from HSBC to C1 Plat to C1 QS. $5K CL. 19.99% APR.
[B] = My 7 month old card with $10K CL. It was a VentureOne that I PC to a QS Visa Sig about 2 weeks ago. 15.90% APR.
I closed [A] and kept [B].
Prefer the Visa Sig over the Mastercard.
15.90% is better than 19.99% even though I will probably never carry a balance.
My AAoA is 8+ years, so I don't really care about that.
I'm glad it worked for you, because it certainly hasn't for me or my wife. I had a QS that was a former HSBC from ~4 years ago and a QS that I opened 3 years ago as Platinum and converted to QS. Couldn't get it to work on the website and a CSR told me it couldn't be done, so I went ahead and closed the former HSBC card.
My wife has three CapOne cards, two Platinum MCs and a Platinum Visa. All have been at $0 for over a month, and it still won't let us combine. One was always a CapOne, one is a former HSBC, and the third was a former Sears and/or Orchard Bank card. I'll probably have her close her two lower limit ones soon as they have AFs and we can't combine them.
Pretty disappointed in this feature, but again I'm glad it worked for you.
Have you and your wife had any luck combining your accounts?
