Re: Epitome of 2020 - Capital One returns deposit to my 2016 Platinum "Credit Step" Card.

You're speaking facts. I am more elaborating to the "weird" unlikely timing that this miracle would occur in one of most financially insecure years (ever) lol.

Re: Capital One Secured Deposit Refund

I am wondering if anyone has graduated that has opened a Cap One secured card in the last year?

I am very happy to see they are graduating cards again, especially for those that have held on for years waiting!

Re: Capital One Secured Deposit Refund

Got my secured card just 8 months ago and curiously rushed to check hoping just maybe .... it might happen for me too. I guess not yet, but then it feels so much better knowing there is at least hope of an eventual graduation to an unsecured card.

Will keep checking .. who knows!

Congrats, all the same, to all you graduates!!!

Re: Capital One Secured Deposit Refund - Now Unsecured!

Shockingly, my Cap One secured card just graduated.  I opened the account in late October 2015 and put down an additional $800 deposit for a $1000 credit line.  Six months later they increased the limit by $300, and that's the way it's been ever since.  I've used it regularly with my other cards and either paid it down to zero every month or left a small balance (AZEO).  I kept it over the years because it was my oldest account and didn't cost anything to maintain.

It unsecured on December 9th and my deposit was returned as a statement credit.  I got the email yesterday.  So, there IS hope out there for us long-suffering Cap One secured card customers.

No graduation for me yet. Hopefully soon, does look like analysts are genuinely going through these. I haven't used the card for quite some time but looking at some DPs it shouldn't matter for this review.

Capital one card graduation!!

Hello all, I initially opened my secured Platinum MasterCard in September of 2015. I've emailed Capital one executive offices and called general customer service several times only to be told the same thing (the card would NEVER graduate to unsecured because I opened the card during a time that they weren't graduating secured cards). I've spoken with several supervisors and been told the same thing..the secured card will NEVER graduate to unsecured!!!

I lost hope and gave up on trying to unsecure the card..well after 5 long years, I got a notification yesterday that my secured card GRADUATED TO UNSECURED and that my deposit was refunded!!!!! I'm so happy and excited!

To anyone this situation..don't lose hope. It can happen (just be patient).
