Hi All,
I heard from people getting an email right when they apply for Global Entry saying their account will be credited. However, I applied to TSA precheck and didn't get an email. (Wanted to do global entry, but have to drive an hour to enrollment center). Any experiences of how long Capital One took to credit account?

Hello. I applied for global entry on the 14th of the month. Either that day or the next, I received an email from capital 1 that my application fee is on them and would be credited within the next two billing cycles. I received a statement credit email on the 28th of the same month. Hope this helps.
Edited to add: I am not sure I made it clear. But my statement credit came in around the same time as the email.

Thanks for your fast response! I wonder if I should contact them since I didn't get the email. I applied on Monday and no email of saying they're reimbursing. I have the Venture One so I know it has the program.

Hi killskulls. You're welcome. I just checked the Capital 1 website and it appears the Venture One does not have the credit for TSA global entry/pre check. See the chart below from Cap 1 website.

Hi ItsPossible,
Sorry, not sure why I said Capital One Venture One. I actually have the Capital One Venture. I think I'm so used to saying Capital One that I sometimes add it into the card name haha!
No worries!! It happens to the best of us!
Has the charge for the tsa precheck shown up in your transactions on your Venture account? Whether the answer is yes or no, I would give Cap 1 a call to make sure everything is in order and that you are set to get the credit. Let me know what happens when you call.

So I called them and she told me to wait one or two weeks. She said it was odd I didnt receive an email. She said based on what she sees charged, I should be eligible for the reimbursement. However, she has no way to know if it is in progress or reimbursing or not. I did the TSA Precheck application on Monday and it got posted yesterday (11/7). I will definitely update of what happens though. Really strange how I didnt get an email. The charge posted as "IDENTOGO- TSA PRECHECK."
How do you like your Venture card by the way? I just got it! Any things you like or wish they would improve on?

Maybe there was a kink in the email system and that is why you did not receive it. Also, did you check your spam folder? I would wait until after the 22nd. That gives it two weeks and if the credit hasn't posted, call back.
As for how I like my Venture, I love it honestly. I have two other 2% cashback cards with no annual fee. But, I don't want to let my Venture go. Also, I got my Venture when the annual fee was $59. So, it is a little less than the current $95 annual fee. So it doesn't hurt as much.
1. The main thing for me is that there are instant purchase notifications. I need this because I am out of country quite a bit. My PenFed and Paypal 2% cards do not provide this. In fact, through my app and an email, Cap 1 was proactive in catching and notifying me of a fraudulent purchase recently. They took care of the issue swiftly and without a lot of hoopla.
2. I have only ever redeemed for travel, which is quite easy to do. But there are two points where I think they could do better. Sometimes when I try to redeem on the app, I can't see all of my recent purchases for redemption. But on the desktop I can. That is a little inconvenient. But no big deal. Also, if you want to redeem for cash, then you lose value on the card. The loss of value for redeeming for cash is something that I wish they would change. But it is no big deal.
3. There is the option to redeem for gift cards at different values. However, I have never used this option. I travel enough where redeeming for travel makes sense to me.
4. Customer service has always been great for me, whether chatting or calling. Others have had not so great experiences. But, so far, I've been quite happy with their service.
All in all, my experience with Cap 1 and the Venture has been pretty good.

Nice! Thanks for your detailed response! I did check the Spam folder and it unfortunately is not there. The lady suggested that too actually! I will let you know whether or not the credit is posted in a few weeks. If not, I'll let you know what they say too! Hopefully, it does so I won't have to keep calling them.
Oh wow, are you grandfathered into the $59/rate then? That's nice of them to do. A lot of other cards would just raise your price to whatever they are at.
That's really strange how redemption for app and website differ in terms of what you can redeem points for in terms of transactions showing. Maybe you can report it to them about the bug? I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be a hard fix for them.
I have definitetly heard good and bad stories about Capital One customer service. I'm happy that you have had a great experience though. Here's to hoping that I have the same !

Yes. Called in and confirmed that I will only have $59 annual fee, no increase. Another reason to like them.
Oh and the other reason I like my Venture is that the limit is more than 4 times the limit of the PenFed card and more than 2 times the limit of my Paypal Card.
Hope you enjoy yours!!!
