Capital One closed my account and I have no idea why?

Ok, here’s what I have going on. Today I had a VM from someone from Cap 1 stating they are trying to reach me about a dispute I mad to call them back at this number and extension. I call them directly back, no answer left message. Checked my account it’s all good and I make a payment. Get home and check my account to go ahead and schedule a payment in a couple days to pay the card off and I have no account info!! So I call the CS line and they say my account is closed and I’ll have to Re-Ap for another card but would not tell my why it was closed! Called the # from the VM and still no answer left a message again! So I know she said something about a dispute I made so I go on CK and when I pull up my C1 info it says “Cust disputes account reinvestigation in progress” but I’ve never disputed anything on this card. It’s only been open for 2 months $300 limit I’ve charged $250 on it each month and paid it off before the cycle ended. Only thing I can fathom that happened is I requested a goodwill remove of 1 late payment from Credit 1 that was removed. Maybe the credit bureau made a mistake and sent it to Cap 1 and it oissed them off. Has anyone ever had this particular reason to close account happen? If I finally get ahold of the dispute rep and they won’t reopen oh well I’ll just pay it off over the next few weeks and move on with my life but this is a real crap thing to do to someone for no reason and no opportunity to talk to me first before they do anything.

Just wait to get the letter explaining why and go from there. If you want it back, just hit them up by letter and see if they will reopen. They run by machine really and the reps only read from scripts put in front of them.

How did you Request the goodwill removal of the late on the Credit One account? Sent a letter? Initiated a dispute?

I just emailed Credit 1 for the goodwill. But before I did that it showed my account 30 days past on Experian since Jan 2018 and was showing in collections but had been paid off for over 6 months and current. I disputed it was currently past due.

What I’m getting at is that if you disputed anything online somehow, is there a possibility that you disputed the wrong account? This stuff is mostly automated and I doubt any bureau put your dispute on the wrong account.

Computer incompetence is now on full display in many industries, a computer is only as good as the one programming it.... As others have stated you will need to wait for the letter then you can contact the EO if necessary

No way I’ve pulled up every dispute I’ve initiated and it was most definitely Credit One. It’s the only bureau I’ve disputed with so far this year and the Cap 1 was activated in Feb 2019. I’ve tried calling twice this morning no answer. Guess I’ll wait for my letter. It was just nice having the QS1 card.

For those of us who span computers from the 1970's to today ... the phrase used to be: "garbage in garbage out" and as gdale said: "... a computer is only as good as the programming ...". Amend!
