Re: Capital One "Card Lock" feature

Yeah they have had it awhile, I actually used it a month ago. That's when I found out it even exist, when the csr told me about it. Lol!

Re: Capital One "Card Lock" feature

If you have a 360 checking from Capital One you have the option to freeze your 360 debit card from the main app/ where as for credit cards you can only freeze from the Wallet app

Re: Capital One "Card Lock" feature

It would be nice if more banks offered it in apps. I've had a Chase CSR do something similar, but it took a phone call to freeze and another to unfreeze (keeping the same physical card and number).

Barclaycard and Amex have just changed the card numbers immediately and mailed new cards. There was no freeze option explicitly offered (and I don't recall if I asked).

Yes, occasionally I am absent-minded. I'm pretty good at quickly realizing it when I've lost a card, though.

Re: Capital One "Card Lock" feature

I love this feature from Discover. Glad to see it's easily available on the Cap1 app now.

Re: Capital One "Card Lock" feature

I had no idea this feature existed until a couple of weeks ago when my GF (DGF?) thought she lost her CapOne card. She told me she had put a freeze on her acc, to which my reaction was "you mean your Discover?" (She actually doesn't even have a discover lol)

Re: Capital One "Card Lock" feature

I didn't know about that - thanks for the heads up. I don't use CC apps on my smartphone. The instant lockdown is one of the features I really love about Discover, so good to know CapOne has it too.

Re: Capital One "Card Lock" feature

From what I understad the Discover version of this prevents the physical card from being used but doesnt protect you from online purchases. Is this the same?
