Hello all,
I currently have two capital one cards. I have a QS card that I used the upgrade link on about 6 months ago.Now that I have another platnium that I got about 3 months ago will the upgrade link still work? I'm having trouble as it's saying upgrade not available yet they already granted my cli. Or do I have to call in to PC this card? Thanks
It's my understanding that a live agent will access the same system to check for upgrade eligibility. Give it time, give the card decent usage.
Best of luck!
Thanks for the advice! I was able to upgrade my last card after 3 months so I followed the same formula for my new card. I'll give it some more time and try again!
@Anonymous, that tool can get goofy once you have more than one Capital One card. It may be worth calling or chatting.
The card has to be open for 100 days in order to upgrade. The link should check if any of your cards is eligible for a product change.
You can also use this link to check for upgrade eligibility on your account:

Best of luck!

^^^This 100%. Mine will only check for one of my cards via the link; I have to call for the other. Agree completely that it is worth a call to a CSR to check. Even when I only had 1 card and the PC link showed me no upgrades, a CSR was able to perform a PC for me. I would make the call to them if you're really interested. The worst you'll get from them is a no.

How do the link work? It always tell me "we've hit a snag" I have the Qs-1, is this not eligible?
@Shaw83, if the link doesn't work for you, call in or chat. The link isn't an official tool. Rather, it's something that a customer service rep gave a member here on the board. I think that possibly at one time, Capital One used it in e-mail upgrade invitations. Anyway, it burps on occasion, especially when one has multiple cards. And it's been known to not always show all the offers that a rep might see.
The QuicksilverOne presents a special set of upgrade issues, but they're unrelated to the link. The problem is that these cards are notoriously hard to upgrade, period. It's been done, though.
It appears that consecutive months of usage may be the key; I was able to upgrade two QS1s after 12 or 13 consecutive months of usage. Usage didn't need to be high. Some months had only a single small charge. And positive statement balances weren't necessary. If you want to charge something small each month and pay it off when it posts, that'd be fine.
If you really want to keep the card, you're going to want to lose that fee. Use the card each and every month, and once you have a few consecutive months of usage under your belt, call in to request an upgrade each and every month.
I'll call and ask, I've had the card for 3 years no late payments. I did call in September and ask and the rep told me I have a special card so there's no upgrade for it 😂
