Re: Capital one upgrades offer

As the others mentioned, these "so-called" upgrade offers seem to PC offers, with limited or no added benefits to whatever you already have. So, you might want to either SD all of your 3x QS cards or use them in the way that you like.

Btw, since the Walmart-Cap1 partnership gets ended soon, was there any success to PC the Walmart CC to any of Cap1 cards?

PS: Is there any specific reason to have 3x QS cards, considering that each card gives 1.5% CB without cap?

Re: Capital one upgrades offer

The Walmart card is a branded store card owned by Walmart so you can't PC to another Cap1 card. The Walmart card will just be passed to the next facilitator Walmart chooses.

Re: Capital one upgrades offer

What kind of stats did you have on the quicksilver cards when you got your upgrade offers? I have two quicksilvers and am pre-approved for a student one that I'm not getting. I'd definitely wait for a savor upgrade personally.

There isn't a reason/benefit to having them, but they're offered as upgrades for worse cards. I'm even pre-approved for a third one.

Re: Capital one upgrades offer

@xenon3030

I have had the 3 QS  Cc's many years with each Cc having a nice CL. I have tried couple of times to move CL to 1 QS so I have only 1 QS Cc but was not successful in doing so. So every other month I put a charge on the cards and pay it off. Regarding the Capt 1 Walmart Cc which I was told there is no upgrade  product change to any Capt 1 Cc  so not sure what is going to happen when that time comes.

@Tiggr

All 3 of the QS Cc's have no balance and if I do charge I pay total balance . Recently say 7 years ago I paid of my Capt 1 auto loan so I guess I am considered an excellent customer. At the moment all 3 QS Cc's have upgrade to Venture 1 but I am waiting for the Savor .

Doesn't get much better than that. Nice job. Given the history maybe call and ask for a PC to savorone since really the upgrades they're already offering you are a PC. I'm not sure on the possibility of that though.

Re: Capital one upgrades offer

We've been trying to product change my wife's Quicksilver to the Savor One for 3 plus years. We are always told when we call that it isn't eligible to be product changed to the Savor one. Countless times though she been invited to apply for the Savor One both within the app in the Creditwise section and by the rep whenever we've called Capital One. Since learning about the link to check product upgrade options a year ago I've checked it every month. The Venture One is always the only option available.

Since getting the Venture X card in September 2023 we've been checking the upgrade offers on that and it is offering the Venture One and Quicksilver as options. We have no plans to product change to the Venture One or Quicksilver cards but always check both her cards out of curiosity.

We likely won't even product change or apply for the Savor One now that I've gotten the Wells Fargo Attune card. It does what we were hoping the Savor One would do for us, give us unlimited cash back on live entertainment. Since the Attune is 4% on Live Entertainment and the Savor One is 3%,  now we'd be earning less using the Savor One. We sometimes use my Citi Custom Cash for 5% back on Live Entertainment, but that caps at $500 per month. There have been a few occasions where we have spent more than $500 and anything over that $500 earned just 1% cash back, which is why we wanted a card with unlimited cash back. Now that issue has been resolved.

Cap1 recently offered me an upgrade from QS to Venture or Savor One. I took Savor One because they give 3% back on streaming services, Frontier Fiber Internet and Dining. Their CLI's stink though. Tried a couple different times and all they would offer was $300. Not worth the CLI. I just take the 3% back and pay it off every month never carrying a balance. I'll ditch Cap1 as soon as I find another card I like that give CB on streaming services. Walmart is kicking them to the curb so I really have no reason to stay and they don't lower interest rates so they really have no appeal.

@BudC2  you may want to take a look at the Amex Blue Cash Preferred for your streaming services. It gives 6% back on streaming services and groceries and 3% of gas. It actually categorizes a lot of purchases with Apple  as "streaming" too. I get 6% back on any Apps that cost money or have reoccuring app subscriptions such as NBA League Pass, any Apple subscriptions (such as iCloud storage, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple News, etc), media purchased from Apple, Apple Care.  I always make my $95 annual fee back by February each year. The rest of the cash back earned during the rest of the year is all profit. The annual fee is usually waived in year 1 as part of the sign up offer.  I've had it since 2020 and have always come out way ahead every year!
