This was a fun read... My only question would be why go through such a tangled mess just to get better odds at a CLI? Seems like a lot of trouble. Why not just apply for another card which would help with utilization? Or am i missing something?

You keep looking for, reasoning for someone to agree with you as if to give you permission, or that it's a good idea to go ahead with this. It's been made pretty clear that it's not a good idea, for a plethora of reasons, yet you just don't seem to want to heed any of the advice given... No one is telling you, you can't do it, they're telling you that you shouldn't, and why. Obviously, it's your credit, your money, your consequences, your choice. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide.

I believe your under assumption that CLI on a CC has anything to do with your bank account and your balance!
For a loan sure but certainly not for CC, let alone CLI.
For example I have over 60K with DCU, but have not received any CLI from them in past 3 years... According to feedback's in here, they give out CLI when you do BT with them!
For CC, credit score and credit profile and mostly usage is the most important factor. They would not even know how much you have on your bank accounts!
Your under assumption that banks sit around every Monday morning and review each credit card user and run a manual review! This is just not true! Insisting that it should be, is providing wrong info to readers and that's why you are getting so much reaction regarding your misinformation.
Yeesh, I saw this thread when it first started and said, "Yikes, what a horrible idea" and left; my assumption was this thread would to Tango Uniform in less than a dozen posts. Bzzzt, I'm sorry, that is incorrect..., 100 posts later it is still alive.
