What credit cards are good to buy cell phones and streaming services? Thank you and be safe.

When you say buy cell phones do you mean paying the monthly bill or actually buying cell phones?

Buying a phone and cell phone bill. Thank you and be safe.

Verizon charges extra for many of their plans if you pay for service with a credit card (other than theirs). The difference is far more than you'd likely earn in rewards. I'm not sure about other carriers.

Some account types have a $2 convenience fee for one-time website or over the phone payments, but for auto-billing not only is there no charge but sometimes an additional  credit.

Verizon's autopay discount explicitly requires paying via ACH or a debit card. You used to get the discount just for having autopay on, even if you paid early with a credit card. Now they claw back the credit.

Hmmm, either it still applies to FIOS and business wireless plans, or just grandfathered in.  The personal one looks like it's per line; that would be huge on the business account but alas it is per account. But definitely no fee for autopay with a credit card.

Re: Cell phone and streaming service

Another vote for BBVA ClearPoints and US Bank Cash+

BBVA ClearPoints' utility category covers both my Comcast cable bill and my Xfinity Mobile cell phone service at 3% and there are no caps on that card. BBVA also sends out lots of targeted offers to earn more.

US Bank's Cash+ is 5% but has caps and more restrictive categories. Still though, it's 5%.

It's not a fee per se, you just don't get the discount.   I use the business paypal debit on FiOS as the 1% plus the discount is better than using a 3% credit card (on my bill)   I don't have an eligible plan for the discount on VzW, so I use a credit card to get insurance coverage there.
