The link in the thread worked for me - the answer is no, I am not prequalified ![]()

you have to be signed in on your amazon account I think.
That's what I used. Instant approval.
@crednub wrote:The prequalify link can be found on the Amazon page for the card, as noted above, but it isn't always available. It comes and goes seemingly at random for me.
Every time I try to use it, however, it tells me it couldn't check my credit to prequalify me because my Experian report is frozen. I routinely keep my reports frozen, but always thaw them before trying to prequalify, obviously, but for some reason Amazon/Chase sees them as still being frozen even hours after temporarily lifting it.
I just tried it and it also said my credit report was frozen. Maybe because they are talking about changing from Chase...they may not be accepting new credit apps?

@BessTruman - nothing is definitive as of yet regarding the outcome of the Chase Amazon Visa -- rumors/speculation as of this point. It is still business as usual and they are still accepting applications. Obviously, if reports are frozen, then it's not going to bear much fruit.

The issue that I, and apparently others, are having is that the Chase Amazon prequalify tool says that my report is frozen when it is not.
In my case, I temporarily thaw it prior to trying. Others in this thread have said they get the same error despite not having their report frozen in the first place.

Went ahead and tried this since it is one of my goal cards and I am at 5/24. It came back as not prequalified. I'll be under 5/24 next month so I'll try again then.
Thank you for posting the link. I followed it yesterday while logged into my Amazon account, and contrary to what many others have said here and elsewhere, the pre-qualification worked for me, I was pre-qualified, and then successfully accepted the offer with a $4,000 CL. Also noteworthy, this bypassed Chase's 5/24 filter. This is the second Chase card I have obtained without meeting the 5/24 rule, the first being a Freedom Unlimited card with a $13,500 CL a little under 2 years ago.

Oh wow. A pre-qualification finally worked for me. I haven't been pre-qualified for Chase in a bit. 3/24 now. Solid APR which usually means it's legit. Just approved for the Affinity FCU Cash Rewards so I won't be applying.
Came back as prequalified for me with 22.24% rate. Was just curious and not apping bc applying for a mortgage soon, tho. Once the house-buying is done I'm going to circle back and app for this one bc looks like a good card.
Hey there. Mine is telling me sort of same thing. It said that I couldn't prequalify because they couldn't obtain my credit file. I just froze my today because of discrepancy with Citi but this was happening way before today, as if I had froze my report previously. Every other credit card I've applied for, they had no problem pulling EX, but any Chase card would not let me prequalify for it.
