@Shaed251 wrote:Hey there. Mine is telling me sort of same thing. It said that I couldn't prequalify because they couldn't obtain my credit file. I just froze my today because of discrepancy with Citi but this was happening way before today, as if I had froze my report previously. Every other credit card I've applied for, they had no problem pulling EX, but any Chase card would not let me prequalify for it.
I'm not ready to apply but I check pre qual links randomly and mine always said my credit is frozen when it's not. It's very weird.
I went to check if I was pre-approved for the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa as I saw the offer on my account. Upon checking for pre-approval, I got this notice:
Unfortunately, we were unable to process your pre-qualification request at this time because we were unable to obtain your credit report.
None of my accounts are frozen anywhere. This is the strangest thing I've seen yet. Should I just try with the non-Prime or leave it as is for now?
@Crimsonglory - reference the discussion upthread on similar outcomes. Given that you were just recently approved for another Chase CC, I would try not to draw attention.

Thanks, @FinStar I've heard of Chase being picky and despite being 2/24, I did have a bunch of inquiries last week due to changing my car lease to finance. If I have to shoot for anything, I'll wait on prequalified offers even though they sent me an email for an offer for Chase Slate Edge. Go figure.
Every time I've tried using the pre qualification tool it has said it's unable to get info from my credit reports. Not sure why this message continues to pop up. I have my last baddie left I've been waiting to fall off in June so I'm not super anxious to apply.

I can never get the tool to work, either.

Same here. Any better ideas?

For a variety of customers, it won't work if there's a presence of BK on reports.
I've been seeing all of the posts about people bypassing the 5/24 with the Amazon Visa from Chase.
I checked for pre-qual through my Amazon account and it came back pre-qualified. I know how strict Chase is about 5/24 on their core cards, and I also know I absolutely do not have the patience to wait 2 years from my last card that fell into 5/24 to add anything to my wallet, so If I'm going to hit up chase for another one, now is the time I suppose.
I'll update once I'm done!
Update 1: Apparantly I have exceeded the number of attemts to try and pre-qualify and I have to "try again later". I guess they dont like checking to see if you're pre-qualified more than 2 times in a day? Considering the cold app, as the pre-qual was there a few hours ago.

@SDMarik-- I would exercise some patience with the pre-qualification tool until you receive the offer again. If you go the route of a cold application, it is likely to result in a cold denial. But, if it feels like you're going to burst, then try the cold app (no pre-qual) for science. Experiments can be fun sometimes, just temper expectations.
