If the item you're trying to purchase via Amazon app is over $50.00, the option to use financing instead of 5% is now placed below item and price
That's from Galaxy, i can see it on various Apple devices, too (ewww, those are kid's, not mine).
It also present when using Chromebook and/or Windows based devices.
Promotional financing isn't something that's only offered to some, it's "baked in" card benefits for everyone, so keep trying.
Amazon app is your best bet to figure it out.
Hi @Remedios !
Well this is absolutely maddening! Amazon is literally telling me the opposite (I'd post screenshots but, alas, New Member issues). I'm being told what @blindambition is confirming where the financing isn't baked in but depends on your "profile". (Maybe ordering running shoes while there is browser data/cookies proving you were simultaneously looking at YouTube cat videos is considered a financing risk.)
I'm not too sure what the issue is or if there is maybe some version of the Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Siggy that doesn't have financing as a benefit that I somehow ended up with.
The only thing I can think of is that the account is relatively new (< 8 months). But on the other hand, again, an issuer likely wouldn't approve you but restrict benefits to certain cardholders randomly. ("You've demonstrated adequate financial responsibility, you may have our card and this credit limit. Unfortunately, you are as risky as you are adequate, so you don't get to finance anything you can't pay off immediately. We like interest payments, so only buy things you will surely not accrue interest on.)
Chase gave me the card, they've confirmed I've been using it reponsibily and everything is great with my account on their end. I've been a faithful Amazon Prime customer since Prime Day 1. I've done financing with Synchrony more times than I can count for larger purchases over the years.
What would be the reasoning to not have the financing baked in the same for everyone? Tomorrow I'll get a bit more aggressive with the Amazon reps to get me escalated to some sort of higher department to give me a concrete explanation (in writing). I've demanded a corporate contact, but that doesn't seem to work with Amazon unfortunately.
Anyways, sorry for the rant and thank you!
Edit: I might be a Linux/Unix-loving IT guy, but I'm ashamed to say that my GF shoved me into the apple ecosystem. No explanation needed for the kiddos. I...I understand. lol
It is not member/profile specific, it's a benefit and integral part of this card. It is referenced in paperwork you received with your card.
I got Amazon card either in November or December, feature available from the first purchase.
This is from the application page, again, nothing about it is profile specific.
Just think about it, if Chase advertises Freedom Unlimited as 1.5% cash back card, do you think there is a slightest possibility of "Nah just kiddin', profile specific"
Well, this is no different, and your T&C/Cardmember agreement state so.
Oh no I get it. But you (WE) are thinking too logical. This is what the reps pointed me to earlier during hours upon hours between live chat and phone calls:
Equal Pay promotions do not earn % back rewards. When you place your order, the total purchase amount (including any shipping and handling costs, plus applicable taxes) will be charged to your card and deducted from your available credit. If your purchase includes a recurring subscription, then the first month’s subscription fee (but not any subsequent monthly subscription fees) will be included in the promotional purchase balance. Equal Pay promotions are not available all the time, may be limited to specific merchandise, and may have specific purchase requirements as disclosed in the offer during checkout. Equal Pay promotions are not available on purchases of less than $50, and the availability of one or more of these promotions on purchases is at Amazon’s sole discretion.
If you choose an Equal Pay 0% promo APR offer but do not pay the full amount of your promotional balance when due at the end of the applicable promotional period, any remaining amount after the promotion period ends will accrue interest at your standard Purchase APR as set forth in the Interest Charges section of your statement or in the Rates and Fees Table of your Cardmember Agreement. Your minimum payment will include any past due amounts. Your total purchase amount will be divided equally over the applicable number of billing cycles and added to your minimum payment due each month. Depending on the promotion you chose, your minimum payment could be higher than if you did not select Equal Pay. For more information about your rewards program, see your Rewards Program Agreement.
I'm with you though. I feel like while they technically gave themselves a legal out for being able to go the profile-specific route, what good would that do? Chase is all-in for me to use my card and have financing. Why in the name of <censoringMyselfForLanguage> would Amazon not want to incentivize me with the ability to pay over time? GRRRRRRRR.
@azdude480 after it all gets sorted out i would ask them for some 0%apr for 6/12 month deal for the inconvience lol

At this point I'm not sure what I am hoping for more, Chase Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature financing options (to be like all of the cool kids), or the ability to post photos in posts and credit cards with credit limits in the siggy. (I'm guessing the latter is just html img srcs with alt text attributes defined, but everyone's lists look so neat and clean that there has to a template somewhere.)
Haha, right? I dunno about others, but I only used "borrowed" code for my scores. The rest is a lot of messing around with sizes and order and checking mobile vs desktop layout appearance etc. Definitely a good way to visually "know" my setup though!
I just want to thank you all for this thread and making me feel better after being rejected for the Chase Amazon after a prequal. You've reminded me that although I've been a loyal Amazon customer for many, many, many years with tons of spend through them and an inability to totally replace them, there are times I absolutely despise them and just a few weeks ago had 2+ months of these useless chat rep situations totally unrelated to credit, and related to their errors, recurring over years.
It reminds me that the decline of a card that more or less locks me into buying more there rather than other stores might be a good thing I went from being really in the dumps to reading this and thinking "phew, dodged a bullet!"

Apparently not! I guess another example of rely ONLY on the T&Cs which hopefully are available during the application process (and read several times by each MyFico member before applying for a card)

You will find the answer-or template-you seek in the smorgasboard.
You really got me with that "you are as risky as you are adequate" line.
