Thoughts on it?
It looks like a decent cash back card for Amazon. I've already got Citi DC and Discover though, so would it even be worthwhile? It looks like a pretty good way to get in with Chase though.
I'd try for the Sallie Mae if you have the profile. My Amazon card has been SDed since I got it. It is not a bad way to get decent rewards while getting in with chase if thats your goal though. I like the Freedom as well, but that might conflict with your Discover depending on the quarter.

With your FICOs, there are certainly other Chase cards you could look at.

Yep, my Amazon.com Rewards receives a little purchase here and there. I use Sallie Mae or Discover It/Freedom for anything significant. In fact, I transferred all but 1.5k of my limit to other Chase cards. I will keep it open for 2 years - I took 2 inq for the card, so it remains open until those fall off. That's my policy.
It's good enough, I guess. Others will tell you that the Sallie Mae card gives you 5% on bookstores (which Amazon codes as) on up to $750 in purchases a month, and they'd be right. For the moment, that may be a better card if you are buying lots of things on Amazon every month. If however you only buy the occasional thing on Amazon except when Discover's bonus comes around (or can structure your purchase like that), then the Chase card is a nice backup.

It's also good to consider the other Sallie Mae perks. 5% for up to $250 on gas and 5% for up to $250 on groceries a month. It depends if you could make use of either of those though.
Wasn't there a long thread on this recentlly. Yes, last post THREE days ago:

Without reading the entire thread:
i had a questionable for Chase with a bad wamu checking account, though they were not actively perusing this. If you are being offered the 70 gift card, you are good to go.
It is an excellent way to get in with chase. Not only that, the Sallie Mae does not cover my more frequent purchases (some subscribe and save are switching to alternate amazon companies, such as quasi retail, and I do digital downloads for all my books, ie kindle). These, plus the prime membership, do not earn 5% back with Sallie Mae. If you want in with Chase, do this card for awhile, will get much better apr's on other cards in a year, then can add sallie Mae.
Everyone jumps on that bandwagon, but 3% spend over everything is better than 5% on some things. I will get the Sallie Mae eventually, but the billing is switching for certain areas. I am in the city of headquarters for both amazon and Costco, get to see previews not available across the country. Amazon used to have the category bookstore on my Amex. That category seems to have disappeared across all cards, and is being replaced by merchandise. I will give sallie Mae a chance when I decide to come out of the garden, but I bet they make changes to billing codes along the way.

I like that policy (unless rebuilder with annual fee, but then you have one pull, one year )
