I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge from expierence on who Chase pulls when asking for a CLI? I live in Texas and currently have the IHG card for about six months now. Exploring options but would like to know which report/score will be looked at prior to asking and possibly waisting a pull.
TIA!
They pulled EX for me in CO. I would suggest holding off on the CLI request until the card is a year old. Chase is a lender that I have found likes to give auto CLI's within the first year of cardmembership. Of course this is YMMV but I believe it is worth holding off if you can to see what they may give you first. If no increase at 12 months, by all means request away.
The two methods I have read about on various credit forums for Chase CLI was to use the entire credit line, let it post the balance and immediately PIF (Chase usually reports $0 pay offs mid-statement too) or to open a new Chase CC and combine CLs.
The HP CLI stories have been pretty horrid -- taking the HP hit only to be declined (but still allowed to open another account!), etc.
Just approved this week and they pulled EX, Im in NY.

They gave me a 8k CLI about 14 days after approval... no HP ever appeared although I was warned that it could result in a HP.
Stupid question and pretty obvious answer coming here, but you requested that CLI right?
Second, from the original application were you single or double pulled? Maybe those that are double pulled originally have a better chance of not getting hit with another HP over those that are single pulled originally? I wonder if we have any data points on that.
Check this link to see where all the cards pull from by state and bureau. Hope this helps.
<mod edit> I'm sorry, links to that site aren't permitted on myFICO. --UncleB
Ummmm I believe that posting links to that forum is a no no here on MF... check the FAQ/TOS
Mods?
Requesting a HP CLI from Chase was my most regrettable credit decision of the past year. Last November I requested a $10,000 CLI. I was HP'd 3 times! Twice on experian back to back and once on TU. I then was declined with a 770 at the time. I was livid. I called to complain about the HP's and they denied they double pulled EX and told me to dispute it. I just left it alone as a lesson learned. I don't use them besides travel now and I stick with AMEX, CITI, and my most fav: BofA. They all have never wronged me and been quite generous.
Of course, everybody has different experiences and I loved Chase before that haha. I still like them but not love them. I'll never ask again as I don't need it and I don't use them often. I have a three Chase cards.
