Thanks me too! The fact that they closed it was very dissappointing to me, considering that I was so happy to have the new prime accounts in my wallet, instead of having only Discover to rely on.

Update! My account has been restored, the customer service rep asked my income when I called at 9 am this morning... thanks everyone for the suggestions and support....
Love this forum!
Lessons Learned:
1. Always push payments first to make sure they go through.
2. Double Check your account info you enter when paying a bill, especially if this is the first time you're using the account to pay that bill.
3. If a payment doesn't show up in your checking account, double check to see that it was made properly!! If I hadn't done this I would have had to pay late payment fees.
4. Always pay your bills on time and pay more than the minimum due... I think if i had made only the minimum, instead of the entire statement balance I would have had less of a positive standing in their eyes.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!
@webhopper wrote:Wow. I've always held onto my BOFA account and touted that it's web interface is second to none, but this is so eggregiously lackluster that I suppose Chase isn't a reasonable successor for any local banking things I actually need. I'll put up with some annoyance for extra convenience factor, especially when it comes to this sort of thing where even simple mistakes can be completely aggravating.
For mobile interface, I recomment State Farm Bank... They have a "Pocket Agent" which lets you deposit and pay bills from your mobile phone.... I do everything with State Farm electronically, and their Customer Support is available 24/7, With the pocket agent, you can check your policies, investment accounts, checking, savings... etc with a few swipes of your fingers

I WAS using Chase as my local bank, but since I moved its not so local anymore. The closest branch is 20 miles from my house. I'm getting married in May, and my fiance loves the personal interaction he gets with his current bank, so I've been added to that account, and I added him to my State Farm accounts, so I use State Farm to cash flow my incoming payroll checks, and I use the local bank to cash flow my incoming rental income and child support. Also, state farm bank charges no monthly fees... and if you use the debit card at an atm, they will refund all atm fees once per month. I wanted the Good Neighbor Visa and apped for it in 2010, however my scores were not good enough to qualify at that time, and I didn't want to feel rejection again
I love my USAA Mobile App
oh and congrats OP glad they reopened it
@Webhopper:
I know my statement here may not be the most popular but...I kind of like Chase...(rocks come flying at me from every direction). I have had good luck with them and clearly you had a bad experience but I can understand they got a little scared and closed the account to protect themselves. Circumstance more than anything I think led to the issues. The accident of typing the account number wrong started the ball rolling. If it had not been the weekend you would have immediately been able to talk to someone and get the right answers and then started the reopening process. I am sure it was very frustrating but in the long run at least Chase did make things right by reopening the account.
I am very happy to hear everything is back to normal as I would have to lose a bit of faith in Chase otherwise. I subscribed to this discussion just because I so wanted to know the outcome of your story.

Hmm, they had the nerve to ask your income? IMHO, they should have done absolutely nothing except open your account and appologize profusely. Oh, and after that, they should have apologized some more.

Chase has a problem with apologizing. They didn't even apologize to me (until I made them realize how terribly they'd treated me) after CLDing me due to a CR mixup because my name is extremely common. After that incident, I have not given Chase one cent and my Sony Card by Chase was bought out by Capital One. I'll never have another Chase account again.

I got Chase to apolgize once... When I was switching bank accounts, I filled out the form to switch my Chase Auto Loan automatic ACH from my chase checking to my state farm checking... The fine print says that it would take effect 15 days after the form was submitted, which was on the first... So I also noted on my fax cover sheet and on the form that the effective date of the change would be expected to take place 3/15... Needless to say they pulled the payment out of the wrong account As soon as I realized what had happened I sent a message to the secure message center.. The loan was completely paid off on 4/2/12

What would they be apologizing for? Ultimately, as Webhopper said, he made a mistake on the account number and that led to the problem. The system Chase has in place noticed and issue and acted on that information. Sure, there was an account number mistake but how is software supposed to differentiate between incorrectly entering a number and a fake number? I get some of the bashing of Chase in other threads but this one I cannot see the fault in. There was a mistake which snowballed into a problem which was then rather quickly corrected by Chase; I don't see anything to apologize for.
