Chase Freedom Approval Odds?

i'm looking to get a PRIME visa/mastercard of some sort that i will like since my scores are fairly decent now and im sick of having to resort to my crappy capital one or orchard bank cards if where I'm at doesnt accept AMEX.

my situation is like this...

I had some fairly bad baddies over 2 years ago now on my report. I've recovered a pretty large amount since then. As far as inquiries i believe I have 1 on each of the three reports. Ive applied for 3 cards in 2011 and one inquiry is on Transunion, one is on Equifax so im assuming the third must be on Experian which i cant buy.

Equifax FICO - 662

TransUnion FICO - 646

Utilization is about 60-65% out of $3100 because of my computer financed on the Apple Barclays card.

I currently have a...

Capital One Platinum - $500 limit. (From 2007)

Orchard Bank - $300 limit. (From May 2011)

Barclays Apple Card - $2300 limit. (From July 2011) (dont use this card at all, solely for computer purchase)

AMEX Green - $No Preset Limit. (From Sept. 2011)

Any Suggestions?

Other decent cards I might have better chance to be approved for?

Just trying to move on to better cards than the CRAPital One and the Orchard Bank.

Thanks!

Re: Chase Freedom Approval Odds?

If you can bring the utilization down which wil in turn bring your score up it should be doable.  Get it to 10% and your score should be pushing 700.  Unless the negs are unpaid CO's you should be OK.

Re: Chase Freedom Approval Odds?

Im not sure what Chase pulls, maybe EX?

If you can get your score 660+ you will have a better chance IMHO

Chase mostly pulls EX but occasionally others. With a 650-700 score you are probably goint to be approved, looking at a $2K-3K limit tops, especially with your util. If you get that util down your score could go up enough to tilt the odds in your favor.

Most wait 6 months but you might try your luck with an American Express Revolving Card since you have Green.... but I would probably make sure all accounts other then the Apple are reporting 0 balance.

Re: Chase Freedom Approval Odds?

You should be asking Orchard for CLI every six months...  Also, I was close to your scores when I got Chase Freedom, see the log for details... but I was opted in and got a preapproved offer.

Believe it or not...  I started at 300 with them...  Auto-raised every 6 months or so to 570, then stopped getting auto-increases.  I called this past July and got bumped up from 570 to 770.  Called backdoor in OCT was told that they couldn't raise me since it had not been 6 months since last increase.  I'll call them in January.

Now I plan to bug them every 6 mo...  So far every CLI has been a soft pull, why not?

Chase put me at 2k, below my highest card at the time of 3k, but after 3 months I called the backdoor # and got a CLI to 5k.  I did present a reasonable case, though, and had a ton of usage on it.
