If you have both these cards, couldn't you use the Freedom for all of your other purchases (1%/1x point) and transfer them over to the CSP and they would still count toward the 7% annual dividend? Or are points only gained using the CSP eligible for that?
Getting the Chase Freedom and trying to determine how to spread spending between the two cards.
UPDATE: Just read that since July 20 they 7% dividend is no longer in effect?? Does this mean I don't have it anymore or is it grandfathered in? If it's grandfathered I'd be thrilled, would have just made the cut off. I apped and got approved July 14!

Transferring points in won't count toward the 7% annual dividend, but I think in the past some people lucked out and got it anyways. If you have a Chase Checking account, though, you do earn an extra 10% annual bonus on your Freedom points.

Hmm so basically I should only use the Freedom card for the 5%/5x point categories and nothing else?

If you don't plan on signing up for a Chase checking, then yes! Freedom would only be useful for it's 5x, and then put all other spend on the CSP so you can get 2x on dining/travel and 1x on everything else, plus the 7% annual bonus.

There's a thread dedicated to this and maximizing the UR points using the Freedom and CSP. The work on the calculations of the break even amounts and when to use what card has already been done. Use the search function and you can find it.
I had found this thread:http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/CSP-Freedom-Checking-Use-wisely/td-p/1355519
But this is for people with Checking, so slightly different than my situation. (Cannot get Checking because of my area).
EDIT: Just read that since July 20 they 7% dividend is no longer in effect?? Does this mean I don't have it anymore or is it grandfathered in? If it's grandfathered I'd be thrilled, would have just made the cut off.

I'm pretty sure you're grandfathered in; just keep your eyes peeled for any changes in the coming months or years!
It is a little misleading as they say to basically use the Freedom for all other purchases, which does not apply to me.

Regardless, read the thread and you will learn more than you know now.

I thought everyone who had the CSP before 7/20/14 would be grandfathered in for 2015,2016 then they are eliminating the 7% for everyone.
