I read on another forum 2 days ago that someone got the Freedom card with EMV chip. They also posted a pic and have updated their google.doc emv card database to include the Freedom card. Has anyone on this forum received a Freedom card with chip yet? Just curious when Chase will be rolling it out as standard.
According to that post, the chipped Freedom was a replacement for his Freedom MC that was switched to Visa. I still have the Freedom MC and will be holding on to it until they replace it with the Visa so I won't be calling to ask about it in fear that they will expedite the switch.
Pics or OP is hallucinating.
Did a Google search and followed some of the referrals. Found nothing. Followed your second post to see the card on Flyer Talk. Interesting... Chase converted my Chase Freedom MC two days before statement cutoff (June 21, 2014) and updated showing a Visa account number. Contacted the CSRs and they told me plastic would follow in about 14 days (the statement said plastic by August 15). So based on your second post I may see a Chase Freedom Visa with EMV Chip. Also the CBs showed the new Chase Freedom Visa account number which replaced the mastercard with all account history and so on as if it was always a Chase Visa.

We can't post pics of cc's on this forum but if you go to FT, they posted pic and as stated, has been added to their EMV card database.

Alright, I take it back. OP is indeed not hallucinating.
But that being said, I don't know if Iike the design tweak. They could have at least changed the type face.
Makes sense due to the October 1st deadline and such.
Interesting, VERY interesting...since I'm bored in the garden, I may just ask about this. My card is due to expire in December anyways, but let's see what they say!

You will probably get the same answer I got just awhile ago. I called JPM Palladium CSR since I like the fact that they'll research and ask around before calling me back with an answer and I was told that no firm date has been established for standard rollout for chip on Freedom. So, it's YMMV and you may or may not get the EMV just yet.
I'm in no hurry since Freedom has a 3% FTF but was curious to see how fast they'll be adding chips to all cards.

Thanks for letting me know, dilettante! Yeah, I just sent an SM, and those typically get mixed reviews.
No hurry for me either, not sure of when my next trip out of the states will be, and that 3% is a killer. Much rather use my Quicksilver. If I get the "ney" response, I'll just have to wait until December!
That card is ugly. And I love how every time I try to use my Arrival + card at terminals that should be able to take EMV it never works. My wife said Wal-Mart is the only place that has ever accepted EMV for our card.
