Thanks for the info. DIdn't realize that Chase ckg is $10/month. That more than offsets any additional rewards I'd get. Oh well.

its $12 per month. i was actually in the branch today paying off my car loan and had the banker explain exactly how the trifecta works.
Yeah. $12 a month is going to be more than I'd get in extra rewards for having the ckg acct.
You have a NFCU account which means you have a military affiliation, why would you not be eligible for Chase's Military Banking Benefits? Under Chase's Military Banking Benefits, there is NO monthly service fee no matter your balance, or anything else.
Why wouldn't you go for a checking account with Chase using your military affiliation?

with chase checking the only way to get the military account per say is either active or former military. with nfcu like me for example i joined through my brother who was active duty at that time.

Yes, this is exactly how we have a military account with Chase.
I thought Bichonmom (original poster) was in the category of active, retired or, veteran military.
I got in through a relative. I don't think that would work w/Chase.

It's relatively easy to avoid that fee. Just ACH push a minimum of $500 each month to meet the DD requirement. You could then use that money to make a payment on your Chase credit card or transfer that money back.
You can also avoid the $12 checking account fee by parking >$1,500 in that Chase checking account.
To clarify, you only need Chase Checking + Freedom to get that 10&10 bonus structure. The purpose of the CSP is so that you can transfer UR points 1:1 to their hotel/airline partners. CSP also gives you 2x on travel and food, so you should use it for anything in those categories over $9.62 (anything under that, Freedom wins).
So, if I transfer $500 a month from another ckg acct/bank to a Chase ckg acct., then there is no mo fee? It says DD, so wouldn't they know a bank trsfr is not a DD?
