Chase accounts under review

I was approved for two Chase cards this month. I was going the use the CSP at Walmart (out of State) using Chase pay. Card was declined. I then called Chase. I was transferred like twice since the reps couldn't access my account. The lady asked me the verification questions..

The call ended with her saying my accounts are under review and I would receive a phone call. I can't even access chase online anymore to pay the bill.

Re: Chase accounts under review

I don't know if this is also relevant, but I did use the CSP in Mexico to rent a car. My residence is in California. I don't believe I also did a travel notification

Can't help, but I'm curious how you got the CSP when you were 7/24?

Re: Chase accounts under review

I applied when I saw the green check mark online. It happened a few days after being approved for the Ritz-Carlton

Re: Chase accounts under review

Best guess is all the recent accounts you've opened up have given them some concerns aka Chase FR.

Re: Chase accounts under review

I just think it's silly I can't even access my account online. Does mean I should close my two cards with Chase? I asked if they needed anything and she said no. I was honestly annoyed when she asked if I live out of the country. I said "mam I came to visit family in Texas for Thanksgiving. If I lived out of the country I wouldn't be renting a car or staying at a hotel"

Re: Chase accounts under review

Wait it out no need to make any rash decisions. At least wait for the phone call to see what they have to say. Holidays probably weren't a good time for both you and Chase for this to happen. On Monday you should get more info whether they do call you back or you call them to see what's going on and go from there. But yeah having a CSR ask if I live outside the US wouldn't be amusing either; perhaps fraud is the concern after all if the rep asked that.

Re: Chase accounts under review

I will wait then. It just really caught me by surprised to be honest. I had only called to figure out how to sign up for Chase pay. The first lady "I can't access you're account. I will need to transfer you to lending specialist" lol.

I would much rather go through an Amex FR where I can send tax returns or bank statements. Where Chase doesnt want anything

Honestly, it might be that whoever you spoke to doesn't know what is needed to clear your account issue up. With fraud I'm assuming some codes sent your email/phone and/or security questions would be asked. With FR I can go off what DoC has written about it since I don't know much about Chase does it.

Thanks for the link! I will read when I'm back at the hotel. I'm curious if those that had their "accounts under review" were able to still access their accounts online
