No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I have read that Chase customers are sometimes told, when they visit a branch, that they have offers for one or more credit cards, and that this circumvents 5/24. I've also seen some people say that the online offers are the same thing.
So, I have a dumb question. I am lol/24 and opened a Chase savings account specifically to see if it would get me past 5/24. Don't really need a Chase card, it's more of an experiment. My assumption is that it will not, because I'm a new customer, and the deposit amount is small. But, just checking with the hive mind to understand what I'm seeing.
I have an alert that uses the word "offer" to suggest I apply for a card; also, on my home screen, I see a link with the words "find your offers"; but when I click to "Just For You" in the navigation, it says "we couldn't find any offers for you today." I am guessing that the first two are poorly worded and are simply describing offers for anybody who might apply for a credit card, while the third ("Just For You") is the more meaningful one. Is that true? And, I also assume applying would be a hard pull (the application screen doesn't say one way or the other)?
Here are screenshots I just took to reduce risk of misunderstanding or misstating.

In my experience, it will need to appear in the "just for you" section to circumvent the 5/24. When I got my FU I was 12/24 and it appeared in the "Just for You" with the green checkmark. I applied and was instantly approved. Others may have different experiences though. I hope this helps!
Also check in the "credit cards" section of the drop down menu.
and if you do not see the black or green pre-approved/pre-qualified. then a suggestion to apply is all that it is.
Thanks, very helpful, and in line with what I'd expect at this point (none show prequalified for me). Glad I asked!
I think Chase should use different words than "offers for you" etc if what they are referring to is their general welcome offers for any applicant.
Chase doesn't care about relationships. But if you move a couple hundred thousand through your accounts, watch the offers start flying in.

Actually I believe having a relationship with Chase is important.. I got my CFU and CSP through my chase app just for you offers (I've had chase as my personal bank for years) with a 600 Fico score and 2 open collections. Yes I've taken care of those open collections already but the point is the relationship with Chase is what got me through the door in the first place. Had I not banked with them I'm sure I would've never gotten those cards lol
