Citi Hilton Update - Appears they are allowing PC's

So I just got off a CSR from Citi and it is firm that the Hilton Cards are being moved to Amex.  What I found out interesting is I had two offers to PC my card though.. One was for the DC and one was for the AA.. I turned down the AA due to not getting the sign-up bonus.  The problem I had was my card is less than a year old and I got the no AF card version not knowing the portfolio was being ended with Citi.  With that said I have tons of credit already with Amex so wanted to keep a citi card.  So requested the Citi DC card, but the problem she saw was my account was less then a year old which isn't my fault due to not knowing the partnership was going to Amex.  Long story short she put a request into the back office to have it converted to a DC card and should here whether a go or not within 7-14 days.

Others that have a Citi Hilton card that want to PC whether you have had the card a year or less regardless and don't want another Amex Revolver I would suggest calling Citi and asking for a PC.  I was actually surprised they are allowing them as when I tried a few weeks back it was a no-go it appears they are being flexible again.  Hope this help people and hopefully the back office will be able to push through my PC request with less than a year with the card as that was the issue with the CSR had as the computer wouldn't allow it and hopefully they take into consideration my circumstances.  Best of luck to others that want a PC as appears available!

Citi Hilton product change is bad for a lot people.  When you PC the card, you do not get any bonus.  The same is the card is moved to AmEx.  It prevents you from getting the AmEx bonus since you'll have the AmEx Hilton card.

In my case, I have not earned much Citi card bonuses.  So I plan to cancel the Citi Hilton card really soon.

The same happened with the Chase Fairmont card PC.  For the people who never receive the CSR or CSP bonus, it is not good for the Fairmont card to be PC'ed into CSP.  I just do not know when those people would be legible to receive the CSP bonus again since they already have the CSP not by their own choosing.

This is even worse with AmEx since AmEx won't give the AmEx Hilton bonus now since you already have this card.

I think instead of shutting down this card, I'll just PC it to DC card.  DC card has no bonus, so it is not blocking anything.  And we get to preserve the AAoA.  We do not need this DC card since we already have one and it is not being used much.

Replying to both of your posts... I agree it is a bad deal for a PC to the AA card that is why I turned that down as wouldn't of got the bonus.  Not a bad deal for the PC to the DC card for me as their isn't a bonus that I know about other then a BT offer possibly which I have tons of and don't have balances so this ISN'T a BAD thing for me or most IMO.  Others might have offers such as the dividend card or what not.  I took the best of the two options.. Granted I have a few 2% cards already, but this will keep the card a no AF card and not impacting any bonus that I know about.   Some people want to be Pc'ed to Amex as they burnt them before and possibly a way in with them in the very near future others like me that have 70k exposure with Amex across 4 revolvers don't want another revolver slot taken with Amex and would of just cancelled if I didn't have the PC option.. Also have already got the bonus with Amex for the no AF hilton card in the past as well and no longer have that card.

So long story short agree PC'ing to AA is bad, but to the DC I see no downsides as you eluded to in your first post.  Also I choose to PC my CSP to CSR as I find great value in the card although didn't get another sign-up bonus as the card with my dining expense per month made is a very easy choice as also alot of other forum members choose to do that as well.  Also the people that got the fairmont card hoping to be PC'ed to one of the core Chase card they did indeed get that, but ya they didn't get the bonus heck they got the fairmont bonus of what two nights and a PC would of double dipped that would of been stupid for Chase to offer them two bonus and just bad business for them.  Also the people that got the PC also get a core chase card with being way over 5/24 a big win for alot of those people as well as that was their goal

Re: Citi Hilton Update - Appears they are allowing PC's

Just to clarify, if you do get a PC to the Amex Hilton it would not prevent you from getting a bonus in the future.  The rule is that you can only receive a bonus once per lifetime on any card.  If you never had a signup bonus on a card, you are still eligible to receive it.

Redacted, but left here for context!

This is not what I got from chatting with AmEx rep.  I was told, as long as you have certain card, say AmEx PRG card, before.  Then you won't qualify to receive the bonus again, regardless if you ever receive the bonus.  It was clear.

So PC card to other bonus card is very bad.  Better and safer to downgrade it to non bonus card and keep it in shoebox.  Or just cancel it.

Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product. - Link

Seems like they changed the language.  It used to say something to the effect of lifetime yadda yadda you are only eligible for this bonus if you have never received a bonus for this card.  A bit o' Googling shows that it seems to have begun recently but targeted offers may make you eligible.  I stand corrected.  Thanks!

Re: Citi Hilton Update - Appears they are allowing PC's

For those of us that are currently on the AMEX blacklist: I have read in other forums that AMEX will likely sniff us out and cancel our cards shortly after they are issued.  I am hoping that this is not the case.
