We’re sorry, you’re not eligible to request a credit limit increase at this time because your last credit limit change was on XX/XX/XXXX. There must be six months between changes in your credit limit. You may be eligible to make your next request on or after XX/XX/XXXX.
The date that they said I can apply is exactly 180 days from the date that they said my CL was changed. Hope that helps. Guess they got tired of some of us constantly begging for CLI before they were even eligible. ![]()
Thanks for posting this @cr101. Although I typically only ask for cli once a year on all my cards, in case I get in the mood to ask more frequently, this is really helpful information.
LOL, I'm a constant requestor on my Macy's (Citi) card . . . Let's see what lender does it next!!!![]()

It's been there for me for over a year now
Meanwhile my account still hasn't had the link to even request a CLI restored lol.

It's so funny bc when @RonM21 said that he didn't see that message until he tried again, I jokingly thought to myself that they probably just have that message for habitual clickers bc he and I had a similar experience. I got approved for a CLI and hit the button again and got declined. Didn't receive notice with the date until months later. So, I'm guessing that after you try after X times, they say, "Look, it's not time yet." Call me paranoid, but I wonder if they let you click it X times before shooing you away to see if you're credit seeking. 😬 ...or maybe when we both did back-to-back CLI requests, the CL hadn't been updated yet. Just remembered that my limit wasn't updated right away on the site.
Nope, they rolled out that feature while back, obviously not for everyone at the same time, but it not some sort of reactive pop up based on user behavior.
For most of us who have it, it showed up around the same time.
If you feel like searching, you should be able to find the thread where it's been discussed.

Yep, for those that are curious here is the thread @Remedios is talking about from February 2020 so 16 months ago. First @K-in-Boston reported, me right after and her to bring it home. This is not a new feature for Citi and their customers; quite possible it was even before that but that's the first documented instance that we saw
