Re: Citi unable to tell me if CLI is HP or SP...

There are indeed 4 steps listed.

Step 1 is income and housing info.
Step 2 asks me to confirm that info and says that by continuing I will authorize Citi to check my credit history.

I have not yet clicked continue to go past Step 2.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000

Re: Citi unable to tell me if CLI is HP or SP...

I got my Forward around the same time as you (12/30/2012 in fact) and I asked in early May (even though the FAQ says 6 months min).  I thought maybe I would blocked in the process as the card was too new but no such luck!  I got a "We will let you know" type message, a HP, and then a denial due to too much credit.  So that's put me off asking Citi!   The CL on the Forward is half the CL of my next lowest card.

Obviously Capital One doesn't have a problem with my credit lines as they just gave me 8K CLI today....

Haha @ longtime. Citi loves to deny for "too much credit"
I hate Chiti Citi. They really are the worst, most stickler'ish creditor 'round!
Even Amex isn't as hasslesome as Citi.

That is very interesting. I got my highest CL from Citi 17K  starting limit and Discover after 6 months does not give me anything above the initial  2,5K due to the Citi and Barclay limits... it is soo interesting how lenders interpret your reports Smiley Happy

Well, just to show how much YMMV my highest initial line was Cap One at $30K.  And just nine years later (yesterday) I got my first CLI on it.

Whoa! You got a Capital One credit card with a $38,000 limit?!?!? That's amazing, especially considering it's Capital One.

Well, initially 30K., This was 2004, pre-crash, when lending standards were a lot easier.  And, as I noted, I didn't get any CLIs (until I contacted the EO about something)

Edit: now it's 33, not 38.  I got another 5k on a different card.

Still, $33K from Cap One is pretty impressive!

Thanks, but I view as impressive only in that it is not common, not as something particularly useful!  But hey, something to tell my grandchildren until they beg me to stop.
