Citicards Luv Button requests

Hello All,

I just checked my Plat Select MC and AAdvantage Amex accounts online and for the hell of it clicked the "Request Credit Increase" link on the drop down menu.  The MC account had the form a few days ago and now it says to call in to a CSR for processing.  The Amex has the form but says I am "pre-approved" for a $1200 increase.  Can I...

1) get increases on both cards?

2) get increases without HPs?

The Amex doesn't report the CL so I'd probably want it on the MC if I can only get a CLI on one.  I'm also thinking of PC'ing the MC to a Thank You card in June.  Anyone have suggestions?

I've never heard of the preapproved thing you've got on the amex so I will let someone else comment on that. You might want to call and ask a representative. Citi reps can tell you if it will be a hard or soft pull before you put in the request, and they are usually right IME. If they say anything about checking your credit, its probably a hard pull.

But if the MC says to call, you are eligible for a CLI with a soft pull on the MC.

we just did a CLI request from citi online.  its was a hard pull.

Its usually only a hard pull if you get the form to fill out. Did you get the form?

I called this morning on the MC account to check about PC'ing it to the Thank You card.  The CSR said they will be changing the Plat Select cards to TY cards beginning this month.  I should receive the new card by the end of May.  Then I asked about a CLI as it told me to call in.  They asked for income and said that I was preapproved for $1200 increase.  I said ok.  Then checked on the Amex...and lovely AT&T wireless disconnected the call.  Grrrr.  Called the AA Amex CS line and spoke to a very nice rep.  Told him that I was online last night and it said that I had a preapproved CLI of 1200 on my Amex account.  He said he didn't see anything but could check on it.  He sent my income in and nothing came back.  He asked if I wanted to proceed.  I said "no", that I'll just check back again later.  It wasn't that important but more curiosity.  This card does not report a limit so it's kind of a muted point.

Hope this info helps anyone who might be experiencing the same thing or at least curious

aww, really?  i wonder if that is better than the citicash program on the platinum select.  not that we really use it for rewards, but it'd be nice to know if the program is any good.  another darn new card......

Thanks for the heads up, I would like to know though when Citi was going to announce this information to Platinium Select Cardholders, I also heard and I do not know if this is true or not that Citi will now be reporting credit limits on all World Cards??

Yes Andre, always get the form, ALWAYS.
