I opened this card in Oct 2010, have a $2,200 CL, $0 balance, have not used is months...
My AAoA is 6 yrs, oldest account is 13 yrs.
Should I close the account?
Are they charging you a fee? If so, I would close it, the juice just isn't worth the squeeze. If not, I'd just sock drawer it.
Thanks - no fee - just not using - I will take your advice and just hold it...their interest rate is too high - I have called them in the past and they wont budge - I have not carried in my wallet for over a year now...
I eventually closed mine, but if you have no fee the TU FICO score alone may be worth holding onto it for.

I use it for that an occassionally purchase something and has no fee so its win win
I had the Hooters MC for a while, then it switched to a regular no frills Merrick card. Closed it later, no use for it. Once you get to where you have a nice card collection going, I think it's a good practice to prune out the dead branches.
Mine is in the SD. It will will the 1 year old mark in a few days. I intend on keeping mine for another year and closing, mainly so I can make sure it's no longer a "new" account.
