Combining CL with two chase cards. Best route?

A couple months ago I applied for the chase amtrak card just so that I could have a no fee mastercard as a back up when amex or discover aren't accepted. I got approved for 4500 CL. I barely use it and kind of regret app for it. So a few days ago I got a pre approval for chase freedom, applied and got a 1k limit. I called for a credit limit increase (two times) and each time I call a friendly well spoken CSR talks to me, then they transfer me to a noisy call center to a person that I can't understand to help me. One guy couldn't say amtrak. It's really frustrating. At this point I would like to move the CL from amtrak to the freedom and close the amtrak card. What is the best way to go about this. I not trying to be a jerk but I literally can't communicate with the people they are transferring me to. Any advice?

You can just call back door, regular customer service number or EO. Anyone can help you consolidate CL.

Wait, have you used the Amtrak points?

Call the Chase EO and shift the credit limit from your Amtrak to Freedom. I would keep the Amtrak open though.

No I haven't used the points yet. Why do you suggest to keep I open?

Because it looks bad when you close an account shortly after opening. It's a no AF card right? So why not just keep it open, use the benefits, get the sign-up bonus, and let the account age? If you apply for another Chase card in the future you can offer to close the Amtrak card in exchange for getting a new card if you're not instantly approved.

Chase Freedom has US based customer service. One of the benefits. Try calling 800/935-9935. That's chase freedom cs. I think there is a number printed on the back do the card as well.

Re: Combining CL with two chase cards. Best route?

I recently apped and got approved for a CSP, but had to move some credit around to do so.  I couldn't completely close and move the CL from my Zappos card, so they left $500, since the lowest CL for any Chase card is $500.  You can move $4000 to the Freedom, leave the rest on the Amtrak, and let it sit for awhile...

Don't have the Amtrak card but I've used secure messages to reallocate my Chase card limits.
